That Rod Carew was one hell of a player. How many first basemen do you know that lead the league in triples?

I think I have just discovered one of my favorite stats.

In 1943, Stan Musial lead all of MLB in plate appearances with 701. He had 20 triples and 18 strikeouts. Yes, you read that correctly… “The Man” had more triples than strikeouts for an entire season.
