The UTK thing doesn't bother me, but then again I recognize that I am not a native Tennessean nor an alumnus. Tennessee is the older school, although I believe it was known as Blount College at the time of the founding of UTexas. So, that is a conundrum that I'll let other people argue about. The other problem with Texas is that UT-Arlington is already known as UTA, so that's out. I hate to say it, but in my experience virtually everyone who works here refers to it as UTK.

Edit: If I posted this statement on the football forum, I would be guaranteed to be brutalized, hopefully not in here...

I just think being the flagship state university, it should be UT. TX could be UTX.

I think how you, me or anyone within the UT educational system chooses to refer to us is dependent on who you’re talking to. If I’m talking to a Floridian who is familiar with the University of Tennessee, I might just tell them I went to UT. If I’m talking to someone from Jackson, TN., I might tell them I went to UTK or UTHSC to be specific. Personally, I could care less whether we are UT, UTK, UTM, etc. to anyone else.

Titans win over Washington 21-17. Titans intercepted pass on the 1 yard line w/6 seconds left..Titans start out 0-2 but now they're 3-2. Titans are off next week on a bye week.

Could easily be 4-1 if the kicker makes his kick in Week 1. They have not played well this season but have a winning record. Hopefully they realize they need to feed Henry in order to win. That is their identity.
