I just think being the flagship state university, it should be UT. TX could be UTX.The UTK thing doesn't bother me, but then again I recognize that I am not a native Tennessean nor an alumnus. Tennessee is the older school, although I believe it was known as Blount College at the time of the founding of UTexas. So, that is a conundrum that I'll let other people argue about. The other problem with Texas is that UT-Arlington is already known as UTA, so that's out. I hate to say it, but in my experience virtually everyone who works here refers to it as UTK.
Edit: If I posted this statement on the football forum, I would be guaranteed to be brutalized, hopefully not in here...
