OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

Ok guys, I’m struggling a little today! I smoked for almost 16 years(disgusting habit) but quit cigs and started vaping (5 years now) I took my last hit of nicotine, Saturday at 3:00! I am fiending today like Tyrone Biggums and I’ve probably gained 15 lbs since Saturday, because all I’ve wanted to do is eat!!
I’ve chewed on a straw so much today that my jaws are hurting!
Any suggestions?

I have an answer but you'd probably brush it off. I smoked for 30 years & I'm free from it.
Smoke free for 28 years now.

It’s hard, you have actually passed the hardest part, the first 24 hours.

One thing that worked for me when I quit was this.

Get a pack of matches.
Sit down.
Hold a match but don’t light it yet.
Now take 10 deep breaths.
Hold the last breath in and light the match.
Now very slowly blow out the match.

This does a couple of things…
Gets your mind off of things and is relaxing
Gives you the sensation of exhaling when you see the smoke from the match slowly going out.
