True story: years ago I was working in one of the largest privately owned pressure vessel manufacturing facilities on the Gulf Coast. I was inspecting welded components. Got lined out on the scope of work for the day and was standing by behind a welders helper prepping welds for me. I noticed an area that needed additional prep and tapped him to get his attention. Mind you this facility was geared up going ballz to walls to complete a huge offshore riser project. Dude wiggled out of a tight space and lifted his hood. It was the owner of the facility. “What can I help you with?” I was damn near speechless but requested that he address the issue I found. Then shook his hand. Got to know him much better later on, but that’s a moment I share with students frequently. That's why God invented the fast forward button. You watch one of the letters installed and forego the rest, because it is four times what you saw initially. I thought it was fascinating to see the how the letters were installed - makes me appreciate things I usually take for granted. I thought the crane was way cool, and the men who bolted the letters down should get paid way more than the president of their company!

honkbalweek - Google SearchI’ve referred to baseball as beisbol for years as my contribution to multiculturalism, and a love for all things Caribbean. I shudder before posting … Honkbal?
The Braves have drafted/developed some good players out of the Dutch Caribbean. I think the only franchise that’s had more is Baltimore? But the Braves have definitely had the most high profile guys from that area that I can recall.I’ve referred to baseball as beisbol for years as my contribution to multiculturalism, and a love for all things Caribbean.
