It’s definitely one of those baseball landmarks you need to get a picture with if you are ever in Atlanta. I know I am biased but I truly believe he was the best to ever do it. The stat that always gets me is: if you took all of his home runs away, he would still have 3k hits. Truly remarkable career and was also a great person. Muhammad Ali said, “He is the only man I idolize more than myself.” And we all know how much that man loved himself lol. That’s pretty cool, need to make it there one day.
Fulton county was such a dump, but man I loved that stadium and have some great childhood memories there!
GBO!!
What baseball parks have you been to?
I’ll go first.
MLB
Cleveland Indians
Cincinnati Reds
Minor League
Bill Meyer Stadium (Knox Sox)
Durham Bulls
Columbus Clippers
Great list.Ooh, this one may tax my brain because most of these go way back.
MLB:
Braves - Atlanta Fulton County Stadium & Turner Field
Cardinals - Busch Stadium (both old and new)
Reds - Riverfront Stadium
Pirates - Three Rivers Stadium
Orioles - Memorial Stadium & Camden Yard
Giants - Candlestick Park
Astros - Astrodome
Tigers - Comerica Park
MiLB:
Huntsville Stars - Joe Davis Stadium
Rocket City Trash Pandas - Toyota Field
Chattanooga Lookouts - Engel Stadium
Might be a few more I can’t remember. Seems like a lot on the MLB side but most of these are one-off events during business travel or church trips. Saw a few memorable games in that mix. The Giants game was in the mid-80s against the Braves. Vida Blue pitched a complete game one-hit gem that night (believe final score was 1-0, Giants). Unless I’m grossly mistaken, the Pirates game was an inter league game against the Yankees, Summer of ’79. Thurman Munson didn’t start the game but came in and played in right field in the later innings. He died in the plane crash a few weeks later. And the Tigers game was in the early ‘00s; it was the “bug” game in which a swarm of Mayflies (or something similar) took over the field and caused a few delays.
The Rocket City Trash Pandas has to be one of the best nicknames ever invented. I remember seeing them on the Lookouts schedule and I just starting laughing, thinking it was fakeOoh, this one may tax my brain because most of these go way back.

I saw that the other day. I’m glad he gets to continue his basketball career. I doubt he ever makes it to the NBA but he can still make a good living playing overseas. Hoping he has a successful professional career.Wrong thread but .... there's John Fulkerson fans in the Dugout thread also.
My local paper says Fulky to begin his professional basketball career in Belgium.
The Kingsport, Tennessee native set the SEC record for games played with 165.
Fulky played 6 seasons with the Tennessee Vols. GBO !!!
Here you go OB...
I’m a Braves fan and I think it was bush league. The only reason Pitchcom exists is because of…oh yeah the Astros. Maybe they were jamming the signalOnly a Yankee fan would think that was bush league. It's good baseball to try that when the pitcher isn't paying attention. Didn't work out for the runner but definitely wasn't bush league.
