I'd like to know what happened. Did Hamlin make a tackle on someone & then he got up & then fell to the ground?

Yes, he was involved in a tackle that looked normal, stood up, and immediately fell backward with his head hitting the ground.

Looks like he just got knocked out when the helmet hit him in the jaw. During a game a friend of mine was knocked out & didn't realize it until we got back to the locker room.

Yeah, this is rough. Praying for that young man, 24 years old. I love the game of football, but this part of it is tough to process.

Actually reminds me of former Florida basketball player, Keyontae Johnson. That’s the most recent incident that comes to mind. Looked eerily similar.

I know it’s completely different, but it reminds me of when Dale Earnhardt crashed at the Daytona 500, it didn’t look that bad at the time but turned out to be fatal.

They said they were administering CPR for a long time, seem to be at least 10+ minutes

Seems so strange. Can’t see why they wouldn’t have one on him within a couple of minutes.

Agree just lost for words what I watched live...and it was what I thought a non vicious hit...just unbelievable to have watched it...

I think it came back that Johnson had an inflamed heart condition. I thought I heard they said Hamlin had a pulse but couldn’t breathe voluntarily. That’s why they had the oxygen on him. Could be a similar health condition. May have something like blood clots in the lungs? That seems to have become a more prevalent issue over recent years. I’m just speculating at this point but usually if people pass out like that there is an underlying issue that has been there for awhile.

Yeah I was shocked whenever they announced he had passed away. I’ve seen way worse wrecks than that.

For people that say “don’t post that video”, I will respectfully disagree. It is important for people to know what to do in those situations. Yeah it’s a little cringy but I would rather people get to see what needs to be done to try and save a life. Just my opinion.

I think people are quick to criticize. Why hasn’t the NFL already cancelled, etc. They didn’t know what to do. There is no precedent for this. I’ve looked at the video 5-6 times and I would imagine most have done the same, even the ones criticizing. I think it’s human nature to want to look.
