OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

Are you the official "food taster" who works at this Texas Roadhouse? Asking for a friend.

No.
For a long time I was a silverware roller which is tedious however not a flaw since I’ve listened to the National Treasure soundtrack, Kiss Double Platinum cd, and multiple other music on YouTube.
Also the podcast Cult Film Review where multiple guys review a movie, give a judgement of the movie with details, and provide an answer with information is Hocus Pocus, Anaconda, Deep Blue Sea, Congo, Escape From New York, Halloween 3 Season of the Witch or which ever movie they are reviewing a Cult movie.

I’m currently a Busser which is a dirty work job, and was a Dishwasher Member and Busser for a long period of time including I recall before (2022) Sonic the Hedgehog 2 got released to theaters, and after that entertaining sequel was released because I do recall getting off early, and I decided to change clothes then see Sonic the Hedgehog 2 at Aksarben Cinema.

On December 14 in Baseball History...
  • 1911 - Pirates owner Barney Dreyfuss proposes that each team in the World Series be required to turn over one-fourth of its share of the gate to the league, to be divided among the other teams. Until now, ten percent of the gross went to the National Commission, 60 percent to the players, and the rest to the two pennant-winning clubs.

  • 1938 - The major leagues agree on a standard ball but disagree on increasing rosters from 23 to 25 players. Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis will eventually decide on 25. The NL grants Cincinnati its season opener a day before the rest of the league in recognition of baseball's 100th anniversary and of the 1869 Red Stockings being the first professional team. The AL permits Cleveland and Philadelphia to play night games. Finally, Will Harridge is elected to a ten-year-term as AL president.

  • 1950 - The baseball owners choose Lou Perini (Braves), Phil Wrigley (Cubs), Del Webb (Yankees), and Ellis Ryan (Indians) to select a new commissioner as rapidly as possible.

  • 1977 - The Red Sox trade pitcher Fergie Jenkins to the Rangers for pitcher John Poloni and cash. Jenkins averages 15 wins a year for the next three seasons.

Guys, after a little research, it appears that our new friend @firestorm is a celebrity!
I want to officially welcome you to the dugout bud,
I’m looking forward to talking sports with you pal!
Who are some of your favorite teams and/or players?
The Firestorm thread. Undeniably the greatest

Chicago Bulls
Michael Jordan
The legendary great Bulls player that is 6-0 in the NBA Finals, twice the Bulls won 3 consecutive Titles in the 90s, and 23 is a highly iconic number in Pro Sports and the NBA because Michael is an incredible Bulls player.
He was Maverick, and Scottie Pippin was Iceman.
Scottie Pippin
A other great player for the 90s Bulls, and a terrific three shooter. He and Jordan were the Extraordinary Double.
Derrick Rose
1 great Bulls player that looked like he would be a great Bulls player equal to Michael Jordan before the infamous injury.
Nate Robinson
A great player that isn’t tall compared to most players in the NBA except still played fearless vs giants like he is a Wolverine.

Tennessee Titans
Steve McNair
The exciting Titans QB that was a dual threat, proved tough as hell because playing hurt is what he did, and a fearless respected leader.

The Great Titans qB that is equal to the great Dolphins QB Dynamite Dan Marino. A great dual threat, he played hurt without issue, and was the main reason why the Titans got to Super Bowl vs the Rams, and a main reason why the Titans
Eddie George
The terrific RB that wasn’t easy to tackle, he did choke slam Ravens LB Ray Lewis, and he was dauntless running vs the terrifying Ravens defense.
Derrick Henry
A combination of Earl Campbell’s size and speed with the tall height of Eddie George.
The terrific RB that has shown he can throw the Tebow Pass, is damn tough to stop when he get running, and a resilient Champion since Eddie George gave him valuable advice for how he can be a great RB before the 2018 TNF Jaguars Titans game.

Yes, 5 years from now the AAV will be significantly higher and many will regret signing such a “bad deal.”
Yeah, because Ohtani and Machado will takebthe market to another level next year, especially Ohtani.
Francisco Lindor is not going to like the fact that he is no longer the richest SS in MLB, so I suspect he’ll be pushing for another new contract soon.

Why don’t they put a clause in there to have their contracts adjusted in those situations?
