I was thinking about decision making based on analytics, like our new infield coach who likes the shift. A human has to interpret the numbers and make recommendation or a decision.

Watching Chase Burns work for the Reds tonight against the Pirates. He looks good through 3. Not given up a hit yet, and hitting triple digits with his fastball and good command of his change up. There was never a doubt he possessed major league stuff. Hope he stays healthy for the Reds and has a good season.

Chase picked up his 1st MLB career win tonight with a 2-0 win over the Pirates. He struck out 7 and gives up 1 hit In 5 innings of work. Hope he has many more for the Reds, one of my favorite MLB clubs.

The use of the shift became such an issue the MLB created the rule to restrict its use.
