Well, a Charger can be a war horse. Pretty sure their original logo included a horse. A Texan is a person residing in the state of Texas, not a bull. Packers were named after a packing company, ie people that pack. 49ers were prospectors from 1849 during the Gold Rush. Steelers are people involved in steelwork. Not my fault they put a kindergartener in charge of their illustration 🤷‍♂️

Chargers are named after the car
 
Chargers were owned by the Hilton Hotels family in their first season in Los Angeles in 1960. He liked the way fans chanted “charge” at Dodger and USC games so he went with “Chargers”…
