Can we all agree that recruiting now is 95% about money and 5% about building relationships?

The days of a player being loyal are going to be gone very shortly. There will be a few players that deserve the VFL stature but not many... I'm still not sold on the one year mercenaries that we bring in to be considered a VFL. I appreciate everything they do but just one year seems kinda shady to be considered a VFL but I suppose everyone can decide by their selves on their version of who is and who shouldn't be...

So is this kid a backup if they don't get Leavitt? Is Leavitt visiting Oregon his home state school? If not, would that not be another red flag? Are we really thinking of making this move with all the concerns on and off the field? Is Heupel feeling a bit or pressure/desperation? Really hope we don't go down that road.

I don’t think we go after Horton but he would be a nice one year rental if the RS Freshmen aren’t coming along like the staff wants. Keys should be starting Day 1. Far and away the most talented one in the WR group. It’s always nice to have a 4th guy you can depend on though. Honestly think we could use Ethan Davis as a pseudo-receiver. He is a mismatch for most teams. Maybe he is the guy that takes that next step.

There's got to be another option. Might be trying to wish something into existence, but I just have to believe we get a qb who isn't yet in the portal. Leavitt is just too big a risk on many levels.

The coaches with their asses on the line don’t seem to see it that way so I’ll take their word on it. Aguilar could always get approved for another year and that would be the only other best option at the moment. You can’t just hope and pray that another QB becomes available in the portal. It’s go time.

There's some lower level QB's available, the QB from Western Carolina Taren Dickens wasn't to shabby...


BTW.. if we're putting all our eggs in the basket waiting on the ruling on Joey Aguilar I'm afraid we may be disappointed... Hopefully I'm wrong but it has to be done soon.

Has Matthews gotten his raise yet? Iv still expect this kid to hit the portal at some point.

Agree on Aguilar. At first, I was "no thanks, we can do better", but Leavitt really worries me. I'd rejoice at his return. Hoping against hope that we can hold out long enough for a favorable ruling to keep Aguilar. Right now he's looking good...really good...like the last gal at the bar at 2am.
