I think Kelly is an average college coach. He didn’t do horribly at LSU, just not up to their standards. I think if he took a job like UCLA or Wisconsin he would do well there. They don’t expect national championships at those places and he wouldn’t have crazy expectations from the fanbase.

He played with Jaden Springer in the Covid Year. I thought both of them should have stayed but they were both 1st round picks so no way they were passing that up. If they were 4 year players they could have developed into being 20ppg scorers.

Kennedy Chandler came the following season in 2021-22.

In an alternate timeline, if all these one and done players had stayed through the 2023-24 season, we could have had a roster of Zakai, Chandler, Springer, Johnson, Knecht, Julian Phillips, JJJ, Gainey, Vescovi, Mashack, Estrella, Cade Phillips, Aidoo, and Awaka. No way we would have legitimately had that roster due to all those guys wanting playing time but it’s always interesting to think about the possibility of that happening.

I think what would be hilarious is if LSU and Florida both get left at the altar and Kiffin decides to try and be a NFL coach again. Florida seems like all their eggs are in one basket with him.
