OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

A lot cheaper than Los Angeles:

I want to go there. It'd be a trip of a lifetime.

Any informed folk who can quantify our apparently deep pitching staff?

How do our starters REALLY stack up by day compared to last year?

How do our short stoppers out of the pen compare by quality and quantity?

How do our long relievers stack up.

So many newbies, lots of them young, have me fearful of making my own analysis. Seems like we have more guys with better velocity, but don’t have a feel if they are fast enough against first line competition. Pretty easy to see the Frank influence on the room, BUT…….

Thanxxxxx,

Talent wise I think we’re fine.
Experience is where we are lacking.
I have faith in my guy Frank.
We will have some speed bumps but will be rolling come May.

It's real. We're talking about California, everything cost more in California...
Somewhat related...and not to get into the economy/political bit.....but I received a cold call from a realtor a couple days ago. It was on behalf of a couple that wanted to move closer to family and my house (which is not for sale) was one of four on their list. There's a couple behind me that wants to buy it. Top dollar. I could make a mint. Point is, CA has some inflated prices, and can buy whatever they want if they have the equity. In short, I sure wouldn't spend 35 bucks on a beer.

Edit: the folks that want to buy it are moving from CA.

You must have been flattered getting that call. Did you think about making it some insane amount that you couldn’t even pass up?

I actually thought they were calling about properties in other states, so I called back. I didn't ask for their offer....I can't move due to a parenting plan with my ex wife...kid is going to specific schools based on my address (and, yes, I kept the house😉).
