OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

All things considered, the pitching hasn’t been awful for the Braves. 4 ER over 15 innings isn’t bad. 3 errors and no run support has been a killer. That’s where a true #1 comes in though. They can pitch around the bad defense and overcome their team’s shortcomings. Strider and Fried have the talent to be bonafide #1 but they have their flaws. Would be nice to strike a deal for someone like Gerrit Cole. That guy would be perfect for the Braves.

If the Braves somehow miraculously comeback and win this game it would do wonders for their confidence. Just not a lot of outs left to get more runs across. Going to have to have some great ABs the rest of the way to get it done. Braves bullpen has been great all year. Hopefully they can hold it down.

Braves are seriously getting no-hit right now. Something told me that with the season we had we weren’t going to do well in the postseason. They need to trade one of these bats for a bonafide #1 pitcher in the offseason. Anyone except Acuña. I don’t care who they trade outside of him.
They have a ton of prospect arms. Maybe package some of them with Grissom.🤷‍♂️

I don’t care what they have to do to get it done. Cole is currently 33 years old and still has some good years ahead of him. I’ll take him over some prospects that haven’t proven anything yet.

Do tell, amigo?

Braves were 6th in the league for fewest strikeouts on offense and averaged a touch under 8/gm. They have 12 tonight in 7 innings…
