I could not imagine turning down $440 million, in hopes of getting $460 million.
That’s insane and one reason why I all but walked away from pro sports. It appears that college is heading in the wrong direction now.

This dude (Soto) needs a mental evaluation done .... and soon too.
LOL ... if you can't live off $440 Million in this day & age something is seriously wrong.
Talk about being "greedy" Soto is the new poster boy.

It’s not necessarily the money it’s the years. The deal was across 15-years, which is just ridiculous for him. You can hate it, but stat’s show Soto’s value is off the charts high and he is very likely to get a $500 million deal somewhere.

I also imagine he just has no desire to stay in Washington because they’ll be rebuilding for at least the next 5 years, so why waste your career in a place that isn’t interested in winning.

Good point! No way I’d want to live in that place for 15+ years.

I bet back in the day baseball was awesome! Back when ol “catfish” was an all star player but then he worked with your old man at the meat packers in the off season!

No .... I came home from school one day & my mother threw out everything I had when I was 10 years old .... comic books included. I don't need to discuss the temper tantrum I threw over that bone-headed move on her part. I have reminded her several times in my life how freaking rich I would be right now IF she hadn't have done that. :)

If back in the day ... you mean in the 50s & 60s, they weren't on TV very much at all. The games would be in B&W only. The networks would show the world series. Saturday TV time would have cartoons and old Tarzan movies on. Sports not too much.

Game of the week every Saturday afternoon with Dizzy Dean and Pee Wee Reese was the only game on each week.

My better half works pretty good shift, 2 on 3 off then 3 on 2 off . Great thing about that she only has to take 2 days vacation and gets 7 days off . I just work Monday through Friday wish I had her shift ,I would get 10 weeks off a year !
