OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

When I worked full-time (younger days) I was working a factory job. I drove a forklift in the stockroom to supply the manufacturing lines & unloaded trucks in the receiving area later on. I was promoted to be over the loading docks to make sure trucks had the right freight on them.
Just your regular job from 10 hours a day & then 8 on Saturdays. Had a lot of over-time.

Supervising is a lot less labor but 100x more stress. If something or someone messes up it always falls back on you. I was in management for 12 years. Money was good but it adds 20 years to your life. I’m so happy I don’t do that anymore. I make more money now than I ever have but I get to truly help people get better and feel like I make a difference in the world.

Have any of the Lego nerds like myself been to Legoland? I have yet to go but thinking about taking my skin over his Spring Break or Summer Break.

Even though you're not surely not referring to me based on your word choice, I'll respond anyways. No, I have not.

I'm glad you're taking your skin with you though, if not sounds like it would be quite painful...

I got lucky one day & was promoted to a salary job. I like to have starved myself to death bc I wasn't making any money by being on salary. Eventually, I made my way back to being an hourly employee to where I could pay bills & buy food to eat. The shirt & tie job wasn't my cup of tea. Besides, my boss talked me into it in the 1st place.

Kellen Moore deserves to be the head coach of the Cowboys but gets scapegoated because the $95M man throws two first half interceptions in a playoff game. That’s not Moore’s fault. That’s a Jerry Jones and Dak Prescott issue. There will be a dozen teams lining up to interview Kellen Moore to be their OC. Horrible move for Dallas but not surprising considering they always make bad decisions.

Oh, well. You'd think Jones knows that by now ..... but, NOoooo.

Yes, we've been to Legoland. FWIW, it's geared towards younger kids. There are some rides, but not thrilling for the older kids.
@VolPack22 to clarify, we've been to the Legoland in Florida. There are a few around. If you do it during spring break, you can also hit up some spring training games. You're real closed to Lakeland, where the Tigers play. Then past that, the Yankees in Tampa.

That's a great age for Legoland. Rides will be up his alley.

Also, the Lego store at Disney Springs has some incredible displays. Obviously it's at Disneyworld, but that part does not have an admission fee.
Awesome, Disney World is just way too expensive now and he’s really into Legos right now so I figured he would enjoy that more anyways.

I was planning on going to the one in Florida. I wish the Braves still played at the Disney World of Sports Complex. We played a tournament down there whenever I was in high school and got to watch them during Spring Training. Might see @mad4vols in Lakeland for a Tigers game haha

You could tell he felt horrible. It definitely wasn’t malicious but that was a bonehead play. Gotta know where you are at on the field. You could see one of the DBs throw his hands up before the flag even came out. Like wth are you thinking…
Looking at that replay Mahomes had a rough landing. I was afraid, at first, he was hurt pretty badly.
