I got a Vertibird for Christmas in the early 1970's. That was a wonderful toy. Wish I could play now.

I did the same and promised to myself as I got older I would get back into it.

Today, I ahve 30-40 AFX cars and build tracks during the holidays for the kids and grandkids. What’s funny is grownups end up spending more time on it than the kids. It’s a fun hobby that has come a long way. These cars today will fly and grip.

We used to put a little Crisco on the bank curves so the cars would get sideways. Back then you couldn’t go too fast or they would fly off the track.
We used to put all our friends tracks together to make huge track. Lots of fun.
I have a ton of HO scale trains. I don’t have a track yet, but I will once we get our remodeling done.

Sound just like me…..just completed our remodel downstairs. Today these car have magnets in them to improve the downforce. Additionally, they a controller able energy supply so you can adjust the power getting to the track. The quality of these cars today is unreal. The detail is beautiful.
