Numerous media outlets have updated the forecasted loss to $40M in 2024 vs the previous forecast of a $50M annual loss in 2024. Since the WNBA was founded in 1996, they’ve lost an average of $10M per year. Caitlin Clark will save the league if she stays healthy.

“The purported loss of US$40 million is an improvement on the US$50 million that was projected earlier this year. However, it doesn’t disguise that the WNBA still remains unprofitable, with NBA commissioner Adam Silver saying in 2018 that the WNBA had lost an average of more than US$10 million annually since its founding.”
It’s not about the annual loss for the investor’s, it’s about the increased valuation of the teams themselves. Always has been.

Ament has a small fracture on his wrist, Boo Carter has gone AWOL—players council want him dismissed, and we just can’t have nice things at UT (except for baseball).

I get it but point is they have lost money for almost 30 straight years. Valuations are often not worth the paper they’re written on and can fluctuate wildly. I see fintechs come and go leaving behind $Billion$ in valuations. Without Clark, WNBA would be trending downward IMHO.

Doesn't matter how much money you got,if the players can't stay on the field you're not going win... All the top BP pitchers are on IL...Dodgers may make playoffs but won't win WS...

Edit: Dodgers still lead N.L. West ..after losing 11/14 games. Someone posted N.L.West sucked and this individual was a Braves fan. Well Braves are like 8-22 against N.L.West so what does that say for the Braves..?
Well I don’t think the west sucks. Not sure who would say that but they are misinformed. The Rockies suck but the rest of those teams are good. As for the Braves, I’ve continued to state all season long they sucked and are in full tank mode right now.

The south is good in college but y’all ain’t good in the pros.
My NFL North division has as many Super Bowls as the AFC South and NFC South combined.

AFC South has two of the most recent expansion teams unless you want to count the Browns and the division wasn’t even created until 2002. Indianapolis isn’t even a southern team. The Bengals are more southern in relation to Tennessee, the Saints and Panthers are more eastern than the Cowboys. To add to this, are we going to make Texas a southern state now since they are in the SEC? Or are we going to consider those Californian teams southern because they are in the ACC and that “Midwestern” conference. Geography in sports has never felt more irrelevant than it is now.
