Boone is better than about 80%* of other MLB managers. That's just not good enough for THE Yankees.I think that’s a certainty if the Blue Jays win the division. I’m actually shocked he has made it this long. I thought they would have gone after a better option a few years ago.
Yankees haven't been the same since George died. And funny enough, during the "dynasty run" in the late 90's, they were mostly home grown players. All records aren’t created equally for MLB managers. Boone may have the 2nd best record amongst active coaches but he is doing it for a franchise with some of the deepest pockets in the sport. It is much more impressive whenever teams like the Royals, Brewers, and Rays are winning division titles.
I mean he did have Jeter and A-Rod. Hard not to win whenever you have guys like that. Even so, that Phillies team was stacked and anyone that can beat a team like that for the World Series is a good coach imo.At least Girardi won a WS. I'm sure my posts say otherwise during his time, but the grass isn't always greener.
I can somewhat agree with this, but there has to be an added pressure to managing a franchise like the Yankees. All records aren’t created equally for MLB managers. Boone may have the 2nd best record amongst active coaches but he is doing it for a franchise with some of the deepest pockets in the sport. It is much more impressive whenever teams like the Royals, Brewers, and Rays are winning division titles.
My boy wanted to watch this one, I wanted to watch the Braves or Mets but gave in.I am*. It would be nice to actually win 1 game against them this year.
