Maybe so, and to provide further evidence to that effect, I'll point out that our best two years in recent memory (22/24), they managed to dodge us on the schedule, which is in their favor for recent on-field results.

Unfortunately there are now too many teams in the league so scheduling is going to be even more sporadic. Personally I think there should only be 1 permanent rival series in baseball and rotate everyone else every year. You will end up playing some teams back to back years but you are guaranteed to play everyone in the conference every two years.

He and Acuña are must-watch television. Other than that nobody else is really performing at their peak. Sale basically said “give me the damn ball and get out of my way.”

I don’t think it’s an intensity issue. It’s a we aren’t seeing and the ball, hitting the ball, and pitching (bullpen) the ball issue.
