I kind of thought they would after Laviolette’s post game speech after being knocked out of Hoover. Whether it’s right or wrong to be held hostage by player sentiment is a different discussion.

I think South Carolina keeping Mainieri is much more of a gut punch to their fanbase. I live in the area and local sports radio had a beat guy on that said “South Carolina isn’t Willing to invest millions into a sport that doesn’t generate revenue”

I can’t imagine what hearing that did to the fan morale.
