@VolPack22 will put me in my place and explain why the Tigers won’t get in.
They are only 5.5 GB of the wildcard but there’s only 29 games left. 30 left for the Twins Red Sox. Even if the Tigers go 20-9 the rest of the way, they would have to hope the Twins go 15-15 and the Red Sox go no better than 18-12. That’s doable but also not very likely.

Tigers:

Angles 2 games (1-1)
Red Sox 3 games (2-1)
Padres 3 games (1-2)
A’s 3 games (2-1)
Rockies 3 games (3-0)
Orioles 6 games (2-4)
Royals 3 games (1-2)
Rays 3 games (2-1)
White Sox 3 games (3-0)

Even if you have a nice stretch like this you would be 17-12 the last 29 games.

When you lay it out like that you realize it’s a big ask.
Thanks buddy.

How often has it happened in the past where a team just collapsed with 30 games to go, probably not too often.

Why you trying to piss on @MAD parade? Tigers finishing over .500 or getting a playoff spot is a great accomplishment for the Tigers. So yes @MAD your Tigers will make the playoffs.😏

Well I know the Braves and Red Sox had epic September collapses fairly recently so it’s definitely possible.

In 2011, the Braves held a 10.5 game lead on the Cardinals on August 25th with a 79-53 record, projected to finish with 97 wins (would have been 2nd best record in NL). They even held a 8.5 game lead on September 6th. They proceeded to go 9-18 in September and finished the season on a 5 game losing streak. The Braves finished 89-73 while the Cardinals finished 90-72 to claim the NL Wildcard.

The Red Sox, in the same season, held a 9 game lead over the Rays on September 3rd with a 84-56, projected to finish with 97 wins (would have been tied with Yankees for best record in NL). They proceeded to go 6-16 in their remaining games. The Red Sox finished 90-72 while the Rays finished 91-71 to claim the AL Wildcard.

So both these teams went from World Series contenders to completely out of the playoffs in the last month of the season…

Sorry buddy, I had to

Shiner Bock for the win!

Or sitting at the border, in a giant metal container, awaiting inspection.

The university of Tennessee already has their brand sponsors. Until the launch of the Yee Haw Vol lager, the previous sponsors did so through the Vol network. Dos Equis pours a ton of money into college football and in particular 12(?) schools, Tennessee being one, along with Coors Light, Twisted tea and Truly(both Boston beer Co)

Sucks for Direct TV ..
Sucks for anybody that loves to watch their team & who has to put up w/this BS.
I'm waiting on Spectrum to start up w/this same kind of BS too. ESPN has control over the SEC Network & we wouldn't be seeing our Vols play if something happens like this. Didn't they shut-down once for a week some years ago over this ploy to get more money out of us?
