OldTimer’s Dugout - General Topics, Chat, Random Photos and Memes.......No Politics

I’m just trying to figure out how MSU just lost 26-3 to Vanderbilt. Yikes!
On the road as well. This is two years in a row State has lost by 20 RUNS at home. Losing by 20 just doesn’t happen in this league and they’ve done it in 2x in their last 3 SEC series. Lemonis has to be sweating his ass off.

Just going to leave this here 😎

We won’t have to wait until next week name the winner of The Dugout Tournament Challenge.
Only 3 people still have a chance.

Either TaylorVol(FAU) or drvenner(KSU) will be eliminated after the first game tomorrow.
If Gonzaga wins tomorrow, ArdentVol will be declared the Champ.
If UConn wins it will come down to the Miami/Texas game.

Here are the scenarios below.

@taylorvol will win if (Needs all 3 to happen)
FAU beats Kansas State
And
UConn beats Gonzaga
And
Miami beats Texas

@drvenner will win if (Needs all 3 to happen)
Kansas State beats FAU
And
UConn beats Gonzaga
And
Miami beats Texas

@ArdentVol will win if (Only needs either the Zags or Texas to win)
Gonzaga beats UConn
Or
Texas beats Miami

Highly entertaining Sweet 16 games including the Aztecs outplayed the Crimson Tide.

I’m very happy Tennessee defeated Texas AM to get their first SEC win.

I’m really pulling for the blue jays!
A Creighton vs Gonzaga final would be the next best thing to Tennessee winking it all, at least for me it would be.
Both teams have always been my team B and team C.

Nobody saw these 4 teams. Here's your Final 4 that's playing for the NC in Basketball.

All those teams won’t make the F4 because they are on the same side of the bracket. 2 out of the 4 will be making it though. Kansas State isn’t that surprising. They were a very good team all season. I didn’t expect the others to do much of anything.

On March 25 in Baseball History...
  • 1910 - The Chalmers Auto Company of Detroit offers to award a new car to the batting champion of each league. The National Commission accepts.

  • 1935 - The Yankees purchase pitcher Pat Malone from the Cubs. Malone had led the N.L. in wins in 1929 and 1930.

  • 1959 - Future N.L. President Bill White comes to St. Louis along with third baseman Ray Jablonski from the Giants for pitchers Sam Jones and Don Choate. White will win six consecutive Gold Gloves with the Cardinals plus one more later in Philadelphia.

  • 1985 - An Illinois judge rules that state and city laws effectively banning night baseball at Chicago's Wrigley Field are constitutional. After being forced to give up a home game during the 1984 NLCS, and threatened with playing future postseason games at another stadium in order to accommodate network television's prime-time schedules, the Cubs had sued to overturn the laws.

  • 1997 - Big-money players change places in a big-name trade between the Braves and Indians, who had faced each other in the 1995 World Series. All-Star center fielder Kenny Lofton and reliever Alan Embree are sent to Atlanta in return from 1995 Series hero David Justice and fleet-footed center fielder Marquis Grissom.
