On December 25 in Baseball History...
  • 1862 - A crowd of 40,000 watches two teams of imprisoned Union Army soldiers play baseball at Hilton Head, South Carolina. Civil War historians are debating the actual size of the crowd.

  • 1927 - Nellie Fox, who led the AL in hits four times, won three Gold Gloves, played in 12 All-Star Games, and was AL MVP for the 1959 White Sox, is born in St. Thomas, Pa. It will not be until 1997, 23 years after his death, that he will finally be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

  • 1940 - South Side Park, the first home of the Chicago White Sox, burns down.

  • 1958 - Rickey Henderson, baseball's all-time stolen base champion and arguably the best leadoff hitter in history, is born in Chicago.

  • 1989 - Billy Martin, former infielder and five-time manager of the Yankees, dies in a one-car accident at the age of 61.

The facility I work at had its power go off today. Luckily they have a backup generator that allowed us to make it through it.
Call me crazy but I don’t think a hospital should be included in a rolling blackout, regardless of backup generators.
I won’t even get started on these blackouts anyway, as this is not the place.
Just hope those affected stay safe!

I came home to my clocks flashing so I guess they were doing it again. Medical facilities should be exempt from rolling blackouts. There are several people on oxygen concentrators that require to be plugged up to the wall. It leaves everyone in a scramble to get the portable tanks and could cost someone their life if gone unnoticed.

I’m shocked that they’re not exempt. Weird, but I was telling my son about the rolling blackout and he asked me what happens if the power goes out at the hospital.

Most every hospital I am aware of has a backup generator, however they are just that, backups. They could always fail or not last as long as they are suppose to. You can’t be putting patients’ lives at stake over some rolling blackouts.

Titans are in a free fall. I hope Vrabel doesn’t get too pissed and decides to leave. Hopefully they give him more control and allow him to draft and develop his own players. I think it’s clear that Robinson did not do a good job of filling out this roster after last season.

I was going to blast him but I can’t really say much since the Titans lost to the worst team in the league at home 🙄

Sure, but you didn’t refer to that game as the lock of the year. The falcons were hot garbage (actually, really cold garbage), but I have no qualms about torching anyone despite that.

The Titans and Dolphins are on a not so good streak.

#1 I don’t want Goff throwing 40+ times.
#2 I don’t want Goff to be my leading rusher, especially when he does so with 16 yards.

So, having Goff as your leading rusher at 16 yards when the other team ran for 320 is not ideal. Very interesting theory. I’ll have to ponder that one.

The ideal situation would be having Swift, you know, THE LIONS RUNNINGBACK lead the way in attempts and yardage.
The 2nd quarter did them in. They got behind the sticks and were forced to put the game in Goff’s hands.
So the defense can shoulder the majority of this one.

Titans need a good qualified QB. Willis is not that guy for the future.
