Why don’t they put a clause in there to have their contracts adjusted in those situations?

A lot of contracts are structured around a player’s expected prime years and will get paid more in those years compared to the tail end of the contract. Some players have had in their contract that they must remain in the top 3 salaries and the team will have to adjust the salary accordingly. There are a lot of complexities that go into these contracts the majority of the time.

I can’t even begin to imagine all the details packed into each contract. It seems the majority of superstars value long-term over AAV, at least to some degree. In the Pujols deal in 2011, his largest salary was towards the end of the contract, which always baffled me. The Angels had the dough, though.

They had Trout’s, Rendon’s, and Pujols’ contract on the books all at the same time at one point. That’s why they are a bad franchise. Rendon got paid and just mailed it in. Dude has played a combined 105 games the past 2 seasons and his first year was the Covid year so 157 games out of a possible 384. 41% of the time he shows up for work. They screwed themselves over on that one.

I’m not surprised that trophy got created since Michael Jordan is the legendary great player, and a champion that other great players aspire to be as great as.


Even as a kid I wasn’t fooled that Michael Jordan shoes really do not make you fly.

The awesome Jet Boots in the 90s Super Mario Brothers do make a human fly.

The Knicks play the Bulls tonight, and since my Bulls could realistically be a good team I’m optimistic they won’t disappoint me tonight vs a beatable Knicks team.

I’m less unhappy I wasn’t able to watch most of the Capitals outplaying my Blackhawks 7-3 which had the Blackhawks scoring a garbage 3rd goal in the 3rd period.

I recall reading that the Blackhawks are intentionally tanking same way the 76ers did for the objective to get a top draft pick.
Most likely to succeed because the Blackhawks lost more than 11 of their last 13 games.

I’m less depressed the Blackhawks stink this year if the objective is get a top draft pick because they might get a great player which is needed for the Blackhawks to be a consistent winning team that makes the Playoffs.

Also because the Flames are a good team that realistically can make the NHL Playoffs, and the Avalanche are a good team.

SIAP ... My local paper is reporting SS Correa & the Giants agree to a 13-year deal worth $350 million contract. I remember when you could build Houston's Astro Dome for a mere $20 million. What makes these owners feel the need to pay such high salaries for any player of any sport this type of greedy money. Your average Frank or Bill or Sally is barely making ends meet in the job they work & get paid for on a weekly basis. If I lived in one of these big cities where this happens, I wouldn't support any sport that wants to pay outrageous type salaries to any player no matter how "good" he might be. What happens when the player goes down with a career lost forever injury. Will owners reduce the price of a ticket? ..... Small rant is over.

A great name is Sam Steel. He is the center that plays for the Minnesota Wild, and that’s a great name for a Pro Athlete, and does also sound like a great name for a valiant hero in a Fantasy Movie or book series, or as the name of a badass hero in an action movie.

Steel because he has unshakable determination and is valiant which is a different style steel instead of the literal hard as steel skin.
That’s the why Steel for the last name if Sam Steel was the name of the main hero in a Fantasy movie or Fantasy book series, Science Fiction movie, Horror Movie, or an action movie.
