The problem is still the same as it has always been. Almost all of the money goes to football and basketball. I don't know if it is different for any of the above. The only big baseball NIL deal so far is the LSU one.
I just wonder at some point if the NIL deals will crash and burn. What they have become in one year is never what they were intended to be. Players were supposed to be able to get paid for using their Name, Image or Likeness. That is not the case now. Now they are just getting paid to play which is the complete opposite of the NIL. The one thing the NIL was never mean to be used for is Pay to Play.
I agree with you 100% but I think we all knew what was coming with NIL. People can say what they want but it is nothing more than a way for the football powerhouses to pay for play and to some extent, a few basketball schools.
I knew from the get go that baseball, softball, volleyball etc were about to get screwed.
I absolutely hate NIL because it is so open ended and has zero regulation. I’m old school and like to remember my guys playing college sports for the love of the game and love of their university, then if they were good enough, they would eventually get paid to play professionally.

These auctions are getting a little out of hand.

While the sale is currently the overall record, there is a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card consigned to Heritage Auctions that closes in just over three weeks; it is sitting at $7.08 million with buyer's premium and is expected to near or eclipse $10 million at close.

To be young again...
My boy pulled his first autograph card about 2 weeks ago. Some no name kid that pitches for the Padres. It’s like $5 on eBay, but he was so excited to pull an auto that he was literally shaking and had a smile on his face for like 2 days!😁

Good for him! As much as I dislike the guy, I have a Barry Bonds card. It is not signed though. Never checked to see what it was worth although I am sure it’s not worth very much. Also have an autographed Tom Glavine ball.
