Why? This is a business trip. The shorter the stay the better and plus there is next to nothing to do there. Very boring state by most accounts. Went there for a basketball tournament in high school and we were all saying “Really Coach?” Hotel had a pool and that was the best part of the trip other than playing basketball.
The Eastern portion of the state of Arkansas is some of the god-awful landscape if there ever was any. My son #2 played in traveling soccer team in HS & we played in a tournament game in the town of Jonesboro located north of Memphis. The roads leading to that place is like traveling on/in the back roads up in the mtns of Virginia. It was a nice facility while there but we all couldn't wait to get back to Tennessee.
Arkansas north roads are terrible for traveling but going south like to Little Rock is smoother. The team that stomped our butts pretty good in our game that day was from Mtn Home, Arkansas. We all looked at each other & said Mtn Home? WTF?Yeah I won’t complain about the place we played at. I think it was close to Little Rock. Teams we played were really good. The team that one won the tournament, their entire starting 5 could dunk and the shortest one was 6’4”
Those "farm boys" made us eat crow that day playing us in soccer. We were, I thought, pretty good. We also played a bunch of Memphis teams & held our own. But, those farm boys from Mtn Home, cut our hearts out & stomped on them. I learned all over again .... not to judge a book by its cover.Nothing but a bunch of farm boys
During hurricane Harvey a guy I know took a boat to his house to gather stuff. A lady asked him to go to her house and look for her husband’s wallet and phone. Her husband was wheelchair bound, and rescued by others.
