Catcher is not allowed to block the plate anymore. If anything, the catcher should have been called for obstruction. They got that call wrong all the way around. Umpires once again taking over the game instead of letting the players decide it. And they get to umpire/review plays again today. Pathetic.

Umpires on field ruled no obstruction and no malicious intent on the contact. Overturned by whoever they spoke to on headset.

That L doesn’t bode well for their chances - that’s a tough regional - but they could easily get hot and still make a run

Should have just kept the call on the field. There was no “clear and concise evidence” for them to rule malicious intent.

X-rays reveal fractured toe for Mookie so he will be out for the series. I stubbed a toe on a rock once and fairly certain I fractured it. Swelled up like a balloon and a lot of bruising but I felt fine after a day or two. You really can’t do anything to further injure it so he will be fine.

I won't post a DongCast until much closer to game time. Lesson learned from yesterday. Morning forecasts this time of year could just as well be based on climate change models.
