Nothing I’ve seen really supports that. What happens come postseason? You constantly have to mix and match whenever the schedules are sporadic. Guys in MLB have thrown on 3 days rest in the playoffs. Guarantee you if you ask Doyle, he would have no issues pitching on Sunday and Friday. It’s not a big ask and nobody is asking him to give 100 pitches. All he needs to give is 50-70.

They stated that he didn't just throw 35 pitches. There's a whole routine to get ready as a starting pitcher. He is also a first round draft pick, which means $6MM is on the line. You don't jeopardize a $6MM arm for one win. But what do I know.

Yea, they've been so patient and not over working A.J then I'm sure CTV and FA won't chance risking Doyle's future either.


There's bigger things to think about than just a series win tomorrow, plus if we lose the conclusion of today's game then who knows could be a straight up BP game for game 3..

They also throw bullpens on off days. Tomorrow could be used as a bullpen day. But what do I know.
