Yes and he came to UT not too long after all that started to do a show at Stokely. He came on stage for about 15 minutes and left the stage. We all thought it was part of the act. Someone came on stage and said Mr. Martin is ill and will not return which we thought still was part of the act. After waiting quite some time, people realized that was it. No refunds. Next night, he was just fine on Johnny Carson. I was never to impressed with him after that.

are you getting any funding from the Gates Foundation?

BTW, I showed this to my wife (a Tar He’ll, whom I met in CH.). She said, “what did you say to that guy that made him flip you the bird?”



Walk by Kenan stadium, just beyond is Boshamer (baseball). Two pretty venues for college athletics.

The Old Well and the old. Chapel Hill cemetery across from Carmichael is neat too. Bonus points if you locate Charles Kuralt’s grave.

I think Manning was an old Law School Dean, and the Hall named after him in the lower quad, so early 1900’s or so.

I did yell “Rocky Top” whenever I walked by, and I got quizzical looks from the thick girls sunbathing on the quad.
