Luis Ortiz. He had actually been pitching very well this season. Came into the game with a 2.75 ERA and a 1.75 ERA for the month of July. I guess he’s trying to do his best to give the rest of the NL West a chance to win the division.

Guillain-Barré syndrome. I’ve worked with a few patients with this. They usually can recovery fully but there are some that do not. Whenever I saw Freddie was taking time off after the initial hip synovitis diagnosis, I knew something else was probably going on but didn’t want to speculate. It’s a very rare disorder. Some can recover in a matter of weeks or months but others can take years. Hopefully it’s closer to the former instead of the latter. More than likely this poor child has a little ways of a recovery ahead of him. Nothing but prayers and good wishes for the Freeman family. They are really good people 🙏
