OldTimer’s Dugout - General Topics, Chat, Random Photos and Memes.......No Politics

I wouldn’t step foot in there, I’d end up getting banned lol. It’s why I also don’t really comment in the RF anymore. I got into it with someone years back and got an email from Freak telling me to behave 😂
Yeah, I understand that. I get some of my memes deleted or moved.
Mods just sometimes delete what you post. I've been in the PF for a long time posting there. I like trolling the liberals.

You gotta wonder how long Harbaugh and Belichick will wait for Atl to make a decision. They seem like the kind of guys who'd say "if you don't know in a couple days if you want me then I won't let you string me along while you interview these no names"

Had a similar thought, but if Belichick is really not receiving much interest from other teams that are focusing on young coaches, does it matter? Seems to be clear he wants to keep coaching.

Plus, I think searches taking time is overblown. New NFL rules don't allow any coach under contract to interview in-person (a real interview) before the divisional playoffs, so today is really the first day for real interviews for coaches who are still employed. BB and JH were uniquely able to get a head start but teams have to interview other people anyways.

It's all about ego. It's not about practical things. It just isn't

How many people are they planning to interview, how do they not have a clue yet?

Again, today is the first day you can officially interview anyone who is currently coaching under contract in the NFL. Among other things, it would be hard to satisfy the Rooney rule (2 in-person interviews of minority candidates required) before today. (I did note that some teams interviewed former Stanford coach David Shaw, which satisfies 1 of those interviews with someone who is not under contract with the NFL). Thus, interviews essentially start now, even though we’ve been talking about it for weeks (me more than others).

As of two days ago the list was 13

The Falcons have already interviewed tons of guys currently under contract in the NFL. The Bengals Brian Callahan is one. Joe Brady and Ben Johnson are others

Those are mostly zoom (not real) interviews. The second (in-person) interviews that have been completed/requested/reported are in my prior posts:

Belichick
Harbaugh
Vrabel
MacDonald
Weaver
Johnson
Glenn
Morris
Eviro

Those were all zoom interviews, not in-person, and zoom interviews of minority candidates do not count in fulfilling the Rooney rule. The zoom interviews are short and are the only ones allowed before the divisional playoffs (new rule this year). The in-person interviews (few completed by any team as of yet) are the real interviews.

OK, didn't know you were specifically referring to in person interviews
