I will be 81 Octrober 31st. Born on the day Orson Wells broadcast the War of the Worlds on radio. I ts a great day to have a birthday. My Mom lived to be 103 so I still have over 20 years to pull for my VOLs

Here's hoping you get to see at least 18 to 20 UT national championships during those 20 or more years

Just turned 30.

I'm impressed that you geezers deal with technology. My dad does facebook and that's it. My grandma just now figured out how to open her camera on her smart phone. Still cant get her to text though.

Dirt was my childhood playmate before she sprouted grass and Mother Nature shipped her off to boarding school. If you can't post anything nice about her, keep still your thumbs.

Mallon Faircloth was the tailback in the old single wing days when I first remember following our Volunteers.

My Dad is a VN member who reads regularly, but doesn't post. Somehow, inexplicable as it seems to me, he is 78. He is a retired 24-year Navy veteran who raised his 3 boys to be Vol fans, despite living at duty stations around the world far away from Tennessee. He was the best man at my wedding 31 years ago today and will always be my hero. I love you, Dad!

I LOVE hearing about Vol Dads who instilled Love for Tennessee in their Children. I am one also; my Daughter was born in Mobile, Al, never been to Knoxville, But is a huge Vol Fan. Johnny Majors said it perfectly. "There's magic in those Orange Jerseys". That plus the Marvelous Voice of John Ward; who was more responsible for a legion of Vol Fans than Any other single person.

57 - Old enough to remember Tartan Turf and no lights in Neyland.

Dang that's crazy. But when you put it in terms like that, I remember seeing games at Neyland having turf, the upper deck still being a horseshoe, and the glorious V O L S atop the stadium.
