Heard some stories on Raleigh and he is my most hated coach, above Kiffin even. Not just a bad coach but a terrible person.

Delmonico had his hate fan club as well. Obviously, not everyone and not nearly as bad as Kiffen or Raleigh. Probably impossible to be as successful as he was and not piss some people off

I know Delmonico had a reputation of throwing guys arms out. Running up their pitch counts and risking injury. That was pretty much the entire SEC in the 1990's. Most guys with serious MLB potential went in the draft, especially pitchers.

Raleigh, Dooley and Pruitt were the three worst sports hires in Tennessee Athletics history in my humble opinion.

Raleigh was the reason we all quit attending the games. Still paid attention at a distance, terrible coach.

I was just about to ask, what thought process? Perhaps more like a lack thereof. Derek Dooley and Todd Raleigh. Mike Hamilton really stepped in it.[/ Some times hires are just not the right fit. We routinely don’t hire very qualified people because after interviewing them we just don’t think they are the right fit for our company.Doesn’t mean they can’t do the job somewhere else and be successful. Coaching hires are the same way
