Old School - When Crompton committed

There HAS to be a reason he was so highly rated out of H.S. I trust the staff's opinion of him. He'll be a lot better this year.

There had to be a reason he was highly rated out of high school? yeah, soft competition, or as we Vol fans know it now-a-days as Chris Donald syndrome.

Anyone else notice him NEVER LOOKING OFF A RECEIVER? He even forced the ball in to the FB/TE in the one highlight. Looking off receivers is something that isn't always learned like it needs to be.

I don't expect much from him this season, unfortunately.

Thought the exact same thing when I watched the video. It's the exact same thing he does here at UT. He doesn't use his progression and stares down his target almost every time. Hopefully he has learned a lot under Kiffin this year because he is all we got.

I remembered I have seen an interview right after Jon committed to Tennessee. When the interviewer asked about future competition with 2 other high profile QBs, my boy Jon Crunkton said, he was not afraid of competition at all, not even if UT brought Peyton Manning back. It was sad for Jon.

lol at the comment under it

JC will fool the naysayers next year. You just don't get *****'s for riding the pine. Now he has coaches that are with him, got his back. Means bunches to a guy that lost all his confidence, now realizing " they're behind me, even when I do make a mistake" Look out! GO VOLS!!!:eek:k:

I actually think Nick Stephens can be a decent QB for us.. I'm kinda hoping he gets to play most of the games

I agree 100%. I think he looks like he has the best grasp of offensive football, but seemed a bit overwhelmed with the play calls last season. The terrible OL didn't help things either. I definitely think he's a better option than Crompton, and though I don't think Lamaison will do much...I wouldn't be surprised if he's #2 on the depth chart by the Bama game.

I love when the analyst said, "the thing that sets Crompton apart is that he is a pin point accurate passer"! :eek:lol: We all know that's not true anymore, unless you believe the passes to the gophers as being accurate!

I hope stephens has a great fall camp and earns the starting spot

The only time I wanna see crapton on the tv, is when they're showing him picking his nose on the sidelines

You all are a bunch of A$$ Holes. get off the kids back. all you can ask of someone is there best. if your best is not that good dont put em down for that. it seems like you all need to take a step back and realize your talking about a kid with very good potential. so quite putting him down because he did not play FOOTBALL like you so called arm chair quarterbacks think he should have. if you could do better get your A$$ out on the field and go walk on. GOOD LUCK!!!

Well at least we aren't functional illiterates. Sounds like another "well he tried his best, give him a blue ribbon" mentality that we have been forced to listen to for a couple of decades now.

Crompton will win 3 games on his arm alone. I just think when it comes down to it, he has the physical tools necessary to lead the team.
I've said it all along and stand by it. His problem was always mental, not physical. He can make the throws, and the coaches know it. It all comes down to his confidence in himself and his ability to play in the clutch.
I rank the 08 disaster up there with what happened to Ainge in 05. He was stuck looking in the rear-view mirror at the other QB, and was never sure if he'd be the one playing. Ainge was a good QB with the physical tools necessary, he just needed a clear head on his shoulders.

I guarantee that NASA could hvrr written the playbook in hieroglyphics and I, at QB, could have led us to 5 wins.
