What is everyone's thoughts on the huge problems we had? Do we miss Chance Hall that much? Do we need to find a different center?

No. The line can be fine. A new offensive coordinator is the only need. Lyle went and hired his old buddy and he simply cannot do the job today. It's time to drop down on 1 knee and invite Mr Manning to fill his new role.

3 stars gonna 3 star. Give Richmond a bit of a pass considering first game.

The problem is the same problem that we have had all along under Butch. We haven't recruited enough big nasties as a whole and certainly not enough quality lineman. Everyone from Fulmer to Doug Mathews have said the same thing. We are going light on the numbers upfront in favor of extra recievers and defensive backs and it continues to bite us in the butt. It's a MAC strategy they gets you beat in the SEC.

Superior SEC defenses are going to cause serious issues. UT's o-line looks like a bunch of slow, lethargic, softies. And does the Center lift weights? His arms looked skinny.

I'm so heartbroken over the offensive production from last night. If anybody thinks this was first game jitters they're fooling themselves. Defense played strong being put in bad situations all night. Dobbs isn't a threat to run or pass anymore. I think if Dormady doesn't take over UT is looking at a 6 or 7 win season. So disappointed.

The play calling killed the line. They knew what was coming. There was no pass threat, no misdirection, no creativity AT ALL.

Offensive tackles need to be nimble--athletic. They need good feet. If they are not nimble, defenders run by and around them. This has been a problem with our tackles for a while.

For a veteran OL to take a step back like they did in the opener can only be attributed to coaching. Why did they "cross train" when they cant take care of business at one position. IMO that lead to inconsistent OL play because they were unable to develop continunity as a group.

If Dormady takes over we're definitely looking at 6 wins or less.

So you think Dobbs can get more than 6 or 7 wins? Can't see it. I was really hoping he was going to have that breakout year as a senior. Not happening. When you aren't a threat to pass accurately what happens? Yep...you guessed it. Deep ball would've been picked by an SEC DB.

We don't have a different center just have Wiseman to move over. Plus Coleman played great at center last year. Remington award watch list this year. I'm saying he had a bad game, maybe overlooked Appy st

We didn't get beat by a 4 man rush the whole game.....sometimes App State beat us with a 3 man rush 😁

And most of the game we whipped the d line, but they made a few critical plays.

Would love to read someone's creditable opinion on each Olinemen from last night. I also would like to ask VFL34 if he could run behind this Oline, I've been hearing a lot of Hurd bashing today. I imagine it's tough on a RB who gets hit constantly behind the LOS, and only5 plays are called all night.

Hurd will make a lot of money in the pros.. He is tough and can carry the load

Anybody think the Vols act like a 7 year old who has their sucker taken away when they get a couple of bad breaks or is it just me?
