Tackles - Douglas, J. James
Guards - Shaw, D. Thomas
Center - V. Thomas

The only Freshman that will have a chance of starting game 1 is J. James because he will be in spring practice this year.

I haven't seen anyone mention Brimfield or Carson Anderson on the OL. What's going on with these 2 guys?

LT- Douglas/James
LG- Shaw/Stone
C- Thomas/Revis
RG- Toss up to anyone who proves they're the 5th best OL on the team: Stone, James, Revis, Hood, Pope, Fulton, Pair, Brimfield, and any walk on that happens to show up
RT- Scofield or Thomas.

I think there is a foundation there for a good OL. Depth is a problem. Alot of this depends on what the training table and S&C program have done for the bodies of Revis, Schofield, Hood, and Thomas. They've been around a year or two now so we should know this spring whether they're players or not.

FTR, I don't think Dallas Thomas can play OG unless he's gained some bulk and strength.

LT Thomas
LG Stone
C Pope
RG Shaw
RT Douglas
I think Thomas could potentialy make a good left Tackle If he's puts a little weight on.

LT- Schofield maybe James
LG- Shaw maybe Fulton will get playing time, have heard good things about him
C- Cody Pope
RG- Dallas Thomas
RT-Douglas, only because pass protection is not quite there yet for LT

also has Hood gained some weight? whenever I saw him on sidelines looked thin.

It depends on how we use our OL in the offense we are going to run. You remember the smallest player on our line last year was a guard (Sullins). Not saying that is ideal. But if we are going to pull our guards a good bit then they can be a little smaller. Of course strength and size are not always hand-in-hand. No matter the size, the guards certainly do need to be very strong. I have no idea where Dallas Thomas ranks in terms of pure strength standpoint.

I do think V Thomas is going to be needed as a body at DT. we are going to need 3-4 kids that can just fall down and get in the way. VT fits that..

I based it on feedback of those giving best effort and desire. Only way to guess at it for now...

We will put ends inside before we move an olineman to dtackle. We have enough bodies on the dline. We've got 14 on the roster. Most are lighter ends, but we would go there first, oline just doesn't translate to dtackle.

What happended to William Brimfield? Kid has tremendous size and would be one of our biggest Olineman... Anyway as I see it LT-Douglas LG-Shaw C- Pope RG-Schofield RT- Thomas or James. I dont really see Stone or James starting but most certainly both will receive pt and provide much needed depth.. It will be interesting to see who has improved from last year til now. James being an EE is a big factor though, that definetly goes a long way in preparing him for early playing time. I know it will be a tough year as far as the o-line is concerned but I think some of us may be pleasantly suprised with the play of our young inexperienced line.

I never heard what happened to DeMarcus Underwood from Leighton Al. He was a JUCO, but as far as I remember never showed for his visit. He was a "big" one that I think could have contributed. Does anyone know? ..........Commish..........

so douglas' pass protection isn't there, so you put schofield or the true freshman James there? Really?
Did schofield play tackle?

Yeah schofield plays tackle and is more of a LT than douglas imo. I thought douglas had a great year but struggled some in obvious passing situations, look at how that speed rusher for VT tore him up. If I am wrong I don't really care, I just hope its for the better, I want the best combo possible and if the freshman is as good as everyone says why not?

Gonna be awfully difficult to keep jarrod shaw out of that lineup and obviously Douglas is a lock.... after that it's a crap shoot but I think thomas, thomas and schofield have to be the early front runners.

Anyone know what wait Daniel Hood is up to?

Where do you get this from?

Not trying to offend but Larry is historically much more reliable than you and he suggested that Revis had made good progress.

See them both on a daily basis, and neither of them are physically ready to play on the line in the SEC. They look more like linebackers than OL. Of course the Sullins twins were both under 270 i believe.

I haven't heard what Revis weight is at and he may be lite. staff was encouraged by his "get after it". more so than others. that was what my reference was about and I should have been more clear.

on offensive lineman the majority of the time it is going to take 3 years in the program for a lineman to be physically ready for SEC play. Physically ready being able to hold his own versus SEC defensive lines.

the optimum scenario is as a redshirt sophomore get back up reps to RS Jrs and Srs so one could move into starting lineup as JR. that would be ideal.

He is good. He will be a good sec lineman in two years. Look at James rivals eval. Those guys are always way optimistic and even he said he needed two years to be ready, then would start two or three.
