OL Rotation

Thought that first quote was from a ValleyGirl until I saw it was attributed to DeBord...."Like, you know, what-EVER".....

It's a little alarming to see our coaches completely scrap what seemed to be a pretty hardline philosophy of "finding and playing our best 5 OL". Why the sudden 180? I thought we saw our "best 5" last week when they pulled Coleman, slid Wiesman to center and put Jones in at guard. What's going on up there? It's as though they don't like who their best 5 OL are so they've just thrown they're hands up and are now saying "step right up, everybody plays"....

I think its more alarming that we cannot settle on a starting OL and stick with it. I hate Butchs philosophy of whoever has the best week of practice will play.

The best five has to include Jack Jones

Why is Jack Jones not playing more ?

And in years past they have wanted to find the 5 best and let them grow together and 4 of those lineman are in the NFL now its important to let the OL get in sync and trust one another.

We seem to all be ready to throw Thomas under the bus. I believe we all need to step back and be careful in our evaluations. Thomas came into the season with an ankle injury. If you remember, his ankle was heavily taped for most of camp. Then he sprained the other ankle and now it is also heavily taped. It's no wonder his mobility has been limited. I'm willing to cut him a break and I think you should as well. Last year when he was moved to center, he was a standout and a leader on the line. I believe he also got some post season recognition. Since he is still playing, I assume both ankle sprains were not "high ankle sprains". As long as he doesn't have any serious setbacks, hopefully he should quickly be returning to his full capability.

Same is true for Robertson. His ankle should soon be healed. Once he gets his footwork issues worked out, he will be back to his levels of performance from last season.

Jones has made great progress and will be getting more and more snaps. With the return of Hall and the continued development of Boulware, we should have a solid 8 moving forward. This would mean that all three of the freshmen could redshirt. Of course, additional injuries could change all that.

I was wondering what had happened I didn't know they were hurt.
