As a team it was 4.8. Multiple drives got killed due to bad blocking, False starts, illegal man downfield. A 53 yd run saved them from averaging 4ypc. So 1 good play then a lot of average, mostly because of blocking. Definitely not a lack of effort on Sampson's partOur backs had over 6 yards per carry Saturday
Their narrative is the only thing that matters. If we averaged 6 yds without a long one they would be bitching about not breaking one. We are at the top for stupid fans.
Might it be that Heupel’s offense is overly reliant on play action and RPO? Get our offense a little off schedule and it just bogs down completely, which might explain why we can go from carpet bombing defenses and scoring 50-plus to barely moving the ball.The average time to pressure allowed by Tennessee this season is 2.7 seconds, 13th best in the nation.
