We have got talent on the OL and DL. It seems that this Coaching Line Play is the Assets of both Fulmer and Chavis.

2 Sacks + 1 Last Night. We are getting beat on Defense and Offense is not producing because we are not winning the battle of the trenches.

Last night Expected a Power Clock Consuming Drive in the Second half by running it down their throats with an occasional pass thrown in to keep their defense honest.

ON DEFENSE, never got a chance in the second half because the Offense did not do there jobs. We are relying on young players in the backfield to tackle and cover.

Bottom Line we are not Physical and losing the battle upfront on both Sides of the Ball.

You would think the entire Coaching Staff would remember this.

I really understand about half of what you say...I have no idea what much of your argument is.

As far as our d-line, we're missing 3-4 impact players that are sitting in juco and comm. college waiting to get in.

Our oline can pass protect, and it's getting better at the run. Based on the 1st half run game, there was no reason to believe that we wouldn't be able to come out and run in the 2nd half.

I'm not sure what "we are relying on young players in the backfield to tackle and cover"...what does that mean???

Chavis coaches linebackers, not the D-Line. Steve Caldwell and Dan Brooks coach the D-Line. They've both been pretty solid coaches over the years for the Vols. Dan Brooks might be the best position coach we have.

Their running backs are getting through the line of Scrimages in most cases with a head of steam because of the missed tackles at the point of attack. DBs are having to play the run and pass no relief upfront.

I felt the oline had an alright game. D-line did a good job of keeping the oline off of the backers but needs to fill up their gaps better. The backers were free for most of the night and each of them ended up with about 10 tackles.
