What do we know about CWF? I know he was at UGA under Richt, but I am not well informed on the success of his OL there or how many guys he put in the league. Can anyone shed some light here? He is truly the only coach Pruitt has hired this far that I am a bit concerned about, mostly because I don’t know anything about him. GBO!

Certainly has the experience and is a good SEC assistant. My only negative about Friend and Richt is that we rarely had enough O-line talent. We always seemed to have to come up with a makeshift line and put guys in positions where they might not fit as well. And when we got quality linemen like John Theus, they were not coached up to perform at their highest potential. I think this is one large piece that we were missing that led to UGA not having the success under Richt that we could have had. SEC football is won/lost in the trenches.

We have a chia head staff! Add the seeds and watch 'em grow. Looks like CJP is hiring position coaches that are more than just position coaches. In game decisions and coaching will be vastly improved.

He couldn't recruit nor develop but he is a good SEC assistant? 😐

So, other than not coaching the players up very well and not attracting top talent, he’s pretty good? That’s encouraging.

Did you click on KB's link? It totally refutes your assessment of CWF.

He is not a miracle worker. He has one really good Olineman in Smith.. He is gonna have his work cut out for him.. Jimmys and Joes not Xs and Os.. He can scream till he passes out trying to make some of these lineman become physical maulers but if a player isn't naturally mean and nasty and loves physical violence, its hard to install. I'm just hoping our line blocks north and south instead of sideways.

Thank you. This thread is a perfect example of how uninformed conversation can rule on Volnation.

The answer is simple. Read the CSU bio and you will see that his offenses produce top 5-20 rushing attacks every year.

Good lord. His rushing attacks at UGA make Sam Pittmans look pale in comparison... CSU has been dominant. so how are people coming on here saying he doesn’t develop talent...?!?!

SO you were unhappy with UGAs line during their record setting Gurley and Chubb (frost) years? This is just not informed. The running game was better under him than any oline coach UGA has had

My understanding, and this is from my brother who went to UGA, is that Friend and Richt valued speed over size on the OL. Cheney loves size.
