Had three redshirt last year. If we take care of business in terms of recruiting o-linemen this year, it will be fine.

Been discussed ad nauseum. UT was in a position to be selective. There are about 13 scholarship OL's on the team with the younger ones either having already played or being legitimate SEC prospects. The Vols RS'd Crowder, Posey, and Kerbyson.

IIRC, there will be 3 Sr's (one starter), 4 Jrs (probably 3 starters), 3 Sophs, and 3 RS Fr. That is a nice spread of talent and development.

UT needs to have a class with no less than 3 but preferrably 4 or even 5 next year. There were a couple of guys they wanted this year but when they missed on them they decided against using a scholarship for someone who would likely be no better than a career scout team player.

Dooley probably should have run this by you first. Maybe Dooley hasn't realized this yet?!?!?!

We have more depth and talent on the o-line than any other position. We will pick up 2-3 next year to make up for the gap

I agree that it is not optimal.

However, it sounds worse than it is considering the depth we have at that position.

But pay no attention to the "trust the coaches" nonsense.

Would have definitely needed one and we tried for 2 really good prospects, Humphries and Jelks. As of right now though, we only have 13 scholarships available for next year and we shouldn't waste one on a position we have recruited pretty well in recent years.
