did you see Neal at the end of the year? I wouldnt be so quick to anoint him the #2 guy and you cant say Smith is #3 when he hasnt even stepped foot on campus (remember Brian Darden?).

Neal will be fine. Tom Smith will be fine. Both are more physically talented.

To be fair to Rex, he's not exactly claiming to be breaking any news here. He put IMO in the thread title and clearly stated that his "source" is TOS.
This is straight from Hubbs keyboard.

wasn't that pretty much confirmed in the OP?

I don't think anything has been 'confirmed'. Confirmed implies two independent sources. My guess is that Hubbs is the only source here and that the OP was passing along Hubbs info, but didn't mention specifically where it came from.

Then, someone else saw it and voila, the info is 'confirmed'.

I'm obviously in the minority here, but I think Oku has the potential to succeed if he chooses to. I don't know the in's and out's of the situation, but hope he does stay.

I suggest you try the other side of the bed tomorrow, Rex....what has gotten into you?:eek:lol:

I know! It just wears on me sometime. I get attacked every day on TOS for bringing info over here and I get attacked over here for posting info. I cant win. :)

The OP starts with:
Its being reported on TOS
Where is the confusion?

Just that it wasn't specific - there are more than one TOS's and more than one writer on them (I left the word 'specific' out and should've been more clear as well).

The poster who said that Hubbs 'confirmed' it would have never used that phrasing if he had understood that Hubbs was the source in the OP, right? Many of us might've guessed that, but it seems apparent that the confirming poster didn't. Not throwing stones here, just making it clear that we don't necessarily have more than one source.

Nice of him to do, but is no longer necessary, imo, jmho, imo.

Some things are just understood.

What an odd statement. "Some things are just understood."

Yes, you are right. One of those things are the "imo, jmho, imo." You do not have to put in my oppinion after you...give your opinion. It's understood.

Sorry about the rant but those little endings drive me nuts.

Some of you guys kill me. All this, "who cares," and "we don't need him" crap is pretty poor. Whatever is going on with the kid, I for one hope he gets worked out. I'd love to see him stay on. He could've bailed last year and didn't. He could've been scared off by BB but wasn't. I think he's got a good head on his shoulders and can truly be successful here.

Some already speculated that he might be leaning towards transferring, but we haven't heard/seen/read anything concrete yet. I doubt Dooley would let him go without some good counseling either.

I personally hope he stays, as I do believe he could be a significant contributor to this team. And even if he's not, I think I'd like him on the team anyway from a character standpoint.

I would hate to see Oku go, but I can't pretend like I wouldn't leave if I were in his position.

Given how he played this year I wonder what level he would have to go to in order to start? He might be better in a pure spread offense, but he showed very little burst at times. Hopefully he loses some weight and stays, because there were times this year when he looked good running the ball-the first half in Florida comes to mind.

Than what?

I hate to be the voice of dissent, but I never saw anything to indicate Neal was better than Oku physically or otherwise. The benching, and then semi-unbenching, seems to speak to something else going on with Oku, Neal, Dooley, or all three.

Neal looked faster and less tentative to me, but I'm no scout. Lots of eggs in Smith's basket right now. I don't know why, but I can live with that.

Rex brings alot of info to the board- but to call it reliable is false!

Anytime someone brings information that throws the fan base on edge, that person becomes a "credible source" , aka 5* fish, defensive staff changes, oku leaving. Let's stick to the facts, and until OKU leaves UT, he is all UT. The more talent we have on this team the better, regardless if that person is playing, they are competing in practice and that brings the whole level up of everyones play. I'm not saying rexvol is wrong, but sometimes its nice to have some stability, since the last three years have not been so stable for us vols. These constant tidbits about drama regarding our team in a negative way is not good. Let it be until the ****t comes out.
