Poole, and it's not even close. I'm just going off of how much they've impressed per touch in games.

Definitly not bash this comment. Good opinion. He runs hard! I just heard that he was lazy in practice. I just hope they find a regular back for about 75-80% of carries and a good backup to give the starter rest. I feel 1 rb needs to get majority of carries to get into a rhythm. JMO

I agree the Brown is the #1 back. I think it's very difficult to assess Brown vs Poole at this point because Poole had so few carries. It's easy to avg 8.5 yards a carry with only 10 carries (I saw easy in a relative manner of course, I couldn't average .7 ypc), but much more difficult to do the same over an extended period of time.

Brown, I thought, played well as a backup. He was solid, but definitely has a lot to learn. No fumbles was a big thing for me.

I think it is going to be a very close race for starting RB.... Poole and Williams are really good runners too....

Unless Toney Williams' knee problems have set him back, he is the next star RB at UT. The guy reminds me of Jamal Lewis.

I just hope one of them emerges as a "take it to the house" type back. Something we have been missing for some time now. Someone who can score from anywhere.

Is everyone saying Williams bc a couple of guys said he looked good in spring? You all jump on the train way to fast. I live in 5-A football and I know Williams is good watching him play for 2 years but many ppl do not even know if he will be able to play at the level we are expecting him to play at.

I don't know where all this is coming from about poole being so good. The times he did run last year it was against the second team defense of the opponent and he only had 10 carries. If he was that good don't you think you would have some other players speaking up. I'm not saying he is not good but he just hasn't had enough touches for someone to evaluate.

Brown will be a bust leave to join his brother at K-state after 2010 season. I hope I am wrong but I did not see greatness in him last year. I see a back that does not have the ability to make the first man miss and does not have great vision or cuting ability. once again I hope he was hurt or had the freshmen nerves, I want him to be great but I do not see it.:pinch:

I just now he was supposedly looking great in fall practices, but then the season started and he couldn't get in the games.

williams will be the back up IMO. oku will return kicks, prolly get some looks in the slot and some reverses possibly.

limited carries, minor injuries, and he is a freshman. give the kid a chance before you start saying he is a bust.

Brown rushed for more yards this year than Hardesty did in any of his first 3 seasons. I guess you gave up on Hardesty too, and he's going to be on an NFL roster next season.

North, south, east, west, over, under, and through.

People are still locked up on BB's recruiting rep. In limited carries, Poole showed better vision, much better cutting ability, better power, better explosion through the hole.... BB maybe the better straight line sprinter but I never saw him make an SEC level cut, he missed holes routinely, and ran up the backs of blockers frequently. He's not in Kansas anymore.

If Brown can't develop these abilities then he'll fade behind both Poole and Oku... and maybe others.

Brown isn't a bust yet by any stretch... to predict that is irresponsible.

OTOH, I agree with your points. Others excuse him because he played injured... which only validates the fact that CLK was playing him more for recruiting impact than because he should have been out there.

Injured or not, he doesn't need to be in front of Poole or probably some of the others if he doesn't start showing SEC level skills.

The only way I was able to rationalize Brown playing in front of Poole last year was that Kiffin was doing it so he could sell "Freshmen will play" to recruits.

He didn't get enough carries but on the few Poole got against VT he was more effective than Hardesty.

This probably gonna get me lit up but I dont think BB is gonna pan out as much as he was hyped. I also feel that OKU and Williams are going to do big things. Poole looked good against VT and was making positive yeards when he was in there.

I noticed the exact same thing. he also played with alot of passion and seemed to want to punish whoever tackled him. Think hes gonna suprise some people.

Brown had a hip injury and that scares me a little. The back that can pass protect the best is going to see the most playing time.
