Oku leaving program? (False Rumor)

Whats the deal with him. I thought he was a very good player. It must be attitude related. If only guys could get their head right. What a waste of talent. Its a shame that somtimes the ass dominates the mind. Take control young Oku and see how far you can go. You are the only one that can make that decision. Go Vols.

Brown had a good year as a true Freshman, in limited duties. hardesty the great back he was, had one good year. How many Idiots would have liked to see him leave his 1st thru 3rd years. Loosing ANY player is not good, and shows that DD has some big Problems keeping the Moral, which is my point all along. How would DD like to have OKU go to the Press and call DD out for his bad coaching, and if anyone thinks that we haven't had coaching problems, they are not watching.

I don't blame Oku either. I mean, Dooley puts Eric Fumbles Gordon back to return kicks and Oku didn't get a shot at all. Huh?

I'm told by a #Vols source there's no truth to rumors about David Oku leaving the program.

just posted......so anyone want to apologize to Mr. Oku?

Let me put you in a broken down Ford Taurus with mismatched wheels, a misfiring cylinder, catalytic converter problems, a couple blown fuses, and busted steering linkage. Now let me drop you onto an active NASCAR track in said car with a pit crew that hasn't worked together for a season. Tell me how you're going to win the race.

There are some really boneheaded things going on, I agree. If the ship doesn't appear to be righted or heading in a good direction by Year 3 then I will definitely be a supporter of finding a new head coach. Until then, let's let the guy finish this race and fix the car. Long term success shouldn't be secondary to short-term gain.

And back to the topic. Oku worried me from Day 1 with his signing day (or lack thereof) antics. I've quietly hoped for the best, but with some lingering doubt as to his devotion. I hope that he proves that doubt to be unfounded.

Oku has been a good kid since he got here. Rumor is stupid and people of course roll with it.

So you are gonna pay me over a million dollars to really suck in your ford taurus, if the ship does not appear to be heading in the right direction, we loose recruits. At least Kiffin had something to sell recruits (dad). Dooley does not have that, the more I see the more I worry. I like DD, but he has got to hold this team together, make us resemble a somewhat well coached team, or we have nothing to offer but our facilities. Now Willcox on the other hand, I would hope he is on a short leash, Our d should be better.

Oku has some talent that we have not put to use. He could be a slot guy. He did not impress returning kicks. Calling him out in the press was a bad decision imo, too. Stay, DO!

GO VOLS!!

Are you talking about Brown and Oku? Is that how Scout had them ranked?

Brown isn't really a bust...but he isn't playing for us anymore, so I guess you could call it that.

As for Oku....he was the Rivals #1 all purpose back...but everybody and their neighbor knew that Trent Richardson was a better back (he was the number 2 or 3 running back on Rivals, behind Brown).

Brown is more of a bust than a make so far. As the #1 back, you would have expected him to be as good or better than Richardson last year or what Lattimore has been this year. He wasn't last year, so you could classify Brown as a bust so far with time to change his status.

He needs to Listen to Tauren....they're good friends. Poole waited his turn and now look at him....Oku needs to take a deep breath and relax

Will not believe until seen.

What have you seen this year to make you believe it won't happen? They are not the hapless wildcats of years past.

I'm not saying it will, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Catch-22 for any coach. Remain silent and the bloggers and press will speculate a bunch of things about a kid not playing that may or may not be true. Go ahead and admit that he has not been playing as desired... and you are calling him out.

I think it can work either way but you have to be consistent and the players have to respond to whichever style you choose.

Oku either needs to get a fire in his belly or go somewhere that fits him better.

This isn't totally dissimilar from Kiffin's situation with Creer. I hope it turns out better for everyone involved.

Dooley is putting Oku in a bad spot, telling him to see the crease, make one move and put his shoulders down. The holes weren't there, so Oku ended up running into piles. Gordon looked good because he was not running as Dooley told Oku to run. Gordon was scrambling in and out and around, all over the field. Our RBs just are not getting the blocks they need.

If we haven't hit bottom, I don't know what bottom is. If Oku is leaving, I won't miss him. He hasn't impressed me.

It was a road game and Auburn hasn't exactly lit it up on the road the past year or so, I think I saw something like 2-11 in their last 13 games before yesterday?

undefeated on the road this year....and that's the only stat that counts.....this Auburn team is totally different from the team they were sporting a year ago.

Kentucky is a quality opponent this year, and unfortunately we will need our A game to beat them.

This Program needs a coach right now, DD screwed up calling out his players through the media. DD has got to hold this team together or he is done. he is a funny man, maybe he can be a talk show host.

This. Stop calling out college kids learning a new system. The way he carries himself tells me he is not our guy.

Yeah, by all means, fire the guy and bring in our 4th coach in 4 years. Maybe we could get Jim Harbaugh to come and take over the Vols. He is doing a fantastic job @Stanford. The only problem is that he wouldn't last a year here, because his coaching record looks like this:

2009: 8-5
2008: 5-7
2007: 4-8

You guys kill me. Give the guy a chance.

I say call 'em out. It'll make them tougher & maybe put some hair on their chest. What this team needs now is some balls.

By balls, of course, I mean switching to the Wilson 1001 or the Nike Aero Elite Collegiate.

But really - telling a kid he needs to quit dancing and hit a whole hard isn't going to break his spirit. As long as he's telling Oku the exact same thing to his face I have no problem with it. And I'm sure (as he's said before) that he tells the kids the exact same thing.

Oku leaving is not a big deal! Never really impressed me that much anyway. As much as he dances with the ball when he gets it, he should be on DWTS!!

Any time a player leaves the vols it is a big deal!!! We only got like 30 players left!!!!:cray::cray::cray::cray:
