You guys are setting yourself up for a let down. Guys we just beat Iowa. I'm excited for the future also but guys slow down.

If Dobbs figures out how to throw a long ball by next season, we will be a good looking football team. He's got probably the best set of receivers to throw to in the SEC. Marquez North, Josh Smith, Pig Howard, Jason Croom, Von Pearson, Josh Malone, Vic Wharton, J. Johnson, & Preston Williams. Hurd, Kamara, & Wolf are also very reliable targets. That is a lot of talent to make something happen with. Dobbs has got to learn to stretch the field with all those weapons, once he gets more comfortable throwing downfield and starts making fewer mistakes, look out. We can compete with the best. But Dobbs needs to step up in a big way this offseason before we can start getting happy about our chances next year.

Team 119 will present a very competent defense for the Schooners this time around and results will show.
Granted, this is the 1st time in a long time, that I can truthfully say, I expect the Vol's to go toe to toe with Oklahoma.....regardless of the outcome

Ah yes, the famed Schooners. Let's just hope for no major gaffs in this one...

I think our young team will take so much confidence from our bowl win, if you will pardon the mixed metaphors, will go through the off-season hungry and smelling blood in the water and will run full-speed into OK.

Not a mixed metaphor if you happen to be a shark...

Edit: a shark on a train...a shark on an underwater train.

The only reason I'm hopeful is most of these kids already played them at their house and fought hard.Played a tough game tgat they.let get away from them. I still think OU will be a better team but having. played then before could make all ghe differnce.

Just viewing the poll, I see 16 people that need to be banned from VN.

JMHO though.

I don't see, read, or hear anybody squawcking about how improved the '15 edition of the Sooners will be. '14 was s'posed to be a peak year for them. Comparatively we will be markedly improved in every area except punting which is a toss up. We should win at home.

If everyone is healthy on D, OU doesn't score more than 17 pts. And our offense will be light years ahead of where they were vs OU last year. GBO!!

Just left Phil Steele website and Oklahoma has 13 starters returning, but not that many on the olineman and dline.

I wouldn't count this game as a loss but I sure wouldn't put it in the definite win column either. They return a lot of juniors and seniors and should be motivated after their lopsided loss in the bowl game. They are in the middle of coaching changes specifically DC. They will be tough but I think we will be tougher.
Plus all of these teams like a shot at the big bad SEC team no matter who it is.

Pretty fair take on it I'd say.

OU finished the 2013 season on a high and were expected to be contenders for the playoffs. They won their last 4 games including a Sugar bowl win over Bama...11-2 overall record.

Their 2014 season ended with 2 loses including a beat down by Clemson in their bowl game. Lost to every good team they played plus their in state rival...8-5 overall record.

The momentum they had coming into this season now belongs to us going into next season I think this game is a toss up but I like our chances.

It's not so much that I think we will win, its that we actually have the talent to compete with them. We have a lot of athletes and a QB who can cause problems. Who knows maybe the stars align and we play lights out.

GREAT idea. Lets play on National TV at night with NO LIGHTS.

That would be COOL.

no wait..........

I rethunk it, and it might not work for ESPN.

I think they hate the Dark as much as they Hate UT.

but we would still KICK their A$$...

Another 6 pack & I will have more brilliant ideas........ OK 12 pack....

I live behind enemy lines and I will only say this, it depends. The rumor mill is swirling out here about a new OC and the fact that Mike Stoops interviewed for the LSU job. After all the swirling is done, I will give an opinion. OU is a lot like we were toward the end of the Fulmer years. An infusion of a new OC and DC might change everything with the Sooners. If they stand pat then I see their downward spiral continuing.

There is no way little game BOBs Oklahoma team can beat our team in 15, we will turn the tables this time around and beat them like 38-17, we are up and coming and they are on there way down, little game BOBs luck has ran out, just think 3 years ago we wanted little game Bob for our coach, I got family in Oklahoma and they would trade little game Bob for the Butcher in a minute, the fans think of him like most of the fans at Tennessee thought of Fulmer, its been what 12 years since that NC, that wont get it ask Phil Fulmer. I cant believe 122 think it will be close, this Tennessee team is coming fast and Oklahoma is on the decline, it will be the second game, they wont know what hit them till its to late, not saying we will win the SEC just the East this year, no way Oklahoma will beat us this time.WE ARE COMING LIKE A BIG ORANGE FREIGHT TRAIN OUT OF CONTROL NO WAY STOPING THIS BIG ORANGE MACHINE.:clapping:Boys I know some of you think I am  or drunk but this is my 44th year as fan, if I make it to the season opener, but I don't know to damn much about anything else, but I do know a little about football, This Tennessee team is on a mission to get back to the top and we are on our way, we will go like 9 and 3 and win the Bowl for a tenth win in 15, on the other side Oklahoma are on there way down, I just don't see no way they can beat us in Knoxville, I know before somebody brings this years game up, this will be a 100 percent different team when we hit the field SEPT.12.WE WIll KICK THERE AZZ AND MAKE THEM LIKE IT.:clapping:
