Some other info for the visiting Vol fans.

For those wanting to tailgate and actually set up their own rigs and whatnot, you can start lining up on Lindsey Street and Jenkins Friday morning, but cannot set anything up until noon that day. The area is pretty well patrolled by both OU police and contract security so leaving your stuff up overnight isn't a big deal. But it is first come, first serve so if you can get there early enough, you can get a decent spot. As stated before, these Okies are serious about their pre-game so come early to avoid the rush.

As stated previously, the easiest gate to get into is gate 1 (southwest side off Asp) to get to the visitor section. And some stadium rules:

No booze (it comes in anyway)

No smoking or tobacco. Generally, dip has a blind eye turned unless you are spitting all over the bleachers. And a big plug of Red Man obviously will have attention drawn to it.

Also, e-cigs are not allowed either. The entire campus is tobacco/nicotine free, but again, it happens and be discreet. However, there are no convenient hiding places within the stadium you can smoke. One typically gets a warning first and then ticketed afterwards. And it's a serious fine and backed by State law.

Once you're in the stadium, there is no exit save for a medical emergency. Obviously there can be extenuating circumstances and if you have a valid need to depart, talk with the security at the gates. Generally they are reasonable depending on why you need to exit.

No bottles come in, but you are allowed an empty plastic bottle for water up to 20 ounces. ETA: Hard plastic bottles like Nalgene and Camelbak are acceptable as well providing they are empty.

No backpacks inside the stadium. Having said that to say this, the string backpacks can be slung over one shoulder and they become a "purse." (not my rule, that's OU logic) Backpacks may be authorized by the gate security for things like diaper bags, but will be searched and tagged.

Will Call tickets are available immediately adjacent to Gate 1.

As noted before, the visitor section does not have restroom facilities immediately available. But are nearby under the main concourses.

Food and beverages inside the stadium are your typical prices (and I highly suggest the foot long corn dogs myself lol)

And again as noted, all bags will be searched.

ADA access is best through Gate 1 as well.

No noisemakers, so bring your best Rocky Top voices.

For OU propaganda stuff, the bookstore on the west side has mementos and stuff if you are so inclined.

OU fans are pretty easygoing for the most part, but as always, there are troublemakers. So if you are having problems, let the CSC Security or police know (the stadium is filled with cops) and the offenders will be removed. And OU has no qualms about booting ticket holders if they are being an ass.

Okies are also pretty passionate about their team much like Vol fans, so expect a little friendly back and forth with the locals. But it is mainly in good humor so don't get butt hurt over a comment or two. We aren't their rivals so generally everything is kept at a reasonable level. They tend to be good hosts for their OOC teams much like we are.

I can't think of much else, but like the locals, I'm open for questions on the security side of the house and rules of the roost.

What is it with Oklahoma? Weak beer and no dip? I will not make it 3+ hours without a dip to calm my nerves. Definitley not following that "rule".

Dip is generally not a big deal. Trust me, when the Captain of the OU Police is right behind my gate using the garbage cans as a spitter, it's not a huge deal lol

Again, discretion.

But bring beer from out of State.

3.2 ABW is 4%ABV, which is regular beer, right?

Governor hates any tobacco and since OU is governmental property, it's banned. Like the other poster said, dip is pretty easy to get away with as long as you're not spitting it on the bleachers.

BUY BEER IN TEXAS though.

One of the Oklahoma posters said that things would be hopping by 10am in Norman. I don't think that's going to be the case. The game starts at 7am so I'd say things will start getting kicked off around noon. The La Tech game started at 6:00 and I showed up to the stadium at 12:30. Traffic was really light and most tailgaters were just starting to set up.

Who is coming to Norman that tailgates at Volunteer home games?

I'll be there, and I'm a regular Vol home game tailgater. Looking to do about the same in Norman, assuming we find a spot early enough.

Myself and another recent UT alum are driving from Knoxville EARLY Friday morning. We expect to be in Norman around 6:00 or 7:00 that night. We're looking for a tailgate to join Saturday pre-game for sure, maybe Friday night too.

You are going to hate your life Saturday... Just saying!!

I am driving half Wednesday and the other half Thursday.

I'm flying into Dallas and driving up with 3 Sooners in a rental car...

1 VOL vs 3 Okies...fair fight if you ask me...

I took on 4 bamers before and it wasn't even a fair fight. I also weighed 340 at the time and pretty agile back in the day, like 25 years ago.....LOL

I'll be headed 35 to Norman on Saturday morning. Headed from McKinney down 380 to 35 and then North. Probably will be in Denton by 9. Anyone looking to Caravan up? Should be in Norman in time for plenty of tailgating.

You're more than welcome to drop them off in Ardmore and let them hitch the rest of the way.

Be careful getting out of the airport in Dallas (I'm assuming you're flying into DFW) since the Interstates can get a bit confusing with I35E and I35W and I635...

I experienced this once before and learned my lesson the hard way.

What about parking during game days? I should be arriving by 3 or 4 that afternoon.

There are several paid parking lots along Jenkins. Or you can park for free at Lloyd Noble Center and either walk from there (about 20-30 minute walk) or you can pay for a shuttle that drops you off about 10 minutes from the stadium. Not sure about any more parking. I'm sure there is though.

You'll find something, just a matter of how close and how much you want to pay. You can pay $40 or so at close houses. $20 or $10 the further you go out. By that time you might as well just park at Lloyd Noble and walk down Jenkins to the stadium. Just as easy as anything else. There are some churches north of campus that are usually just a donation to park, and you will be closer to Lloyd Noble, but I don't know if they will be sold out or not by the time you get there.

Lots of bars on Campus Corner in Norman. I'm hoping to stop by some tailgates on gameday. I'll be in section 36 for the game, Go Vols!

Sooner here. Some have implied that only 3.2 beer is available unless you buy it in liquor stores. Partially true, but all bars/restaurants serve the good stuff. My son owns Roughtail Brewery and it's sold in Louie's, Pub W, McNellie's and Scratch in Norman. Up to 14% beer can be found in bars. I think Roughtail is about 8%. (Shameless plug)
Tailgating? Buy it from liquor stores and ice it down.

Welcome to Norman and hope y'all have a good time.
Boomer!
