No need. Our crappy AD won't "double his salary". If they were going to pay that kind of money, they would have made a legitimate run at Gruden.

I don't know what Currie will do but I would need an answer today. This can't be a long drawn out hire. 8.4 million is fabulous money you either want the job or you don't make a decision.

At the time that they were pursuing Gruden they decided to fall back to plan B. So they were not. Having a sense of urgency. Now they do.
My opinion is that Gundy uses this to get a raise at OSU and leaves us at the alter

You can never forget the talent factor in any situation. I figure Oklahoma State was around the middle of the pack in that league in a year to year basis and that would have been excellent recruiting for them. He might be in the same situation in the SEC hard to beat out Bama, Georgia, Florida, and Auburn in recruiting although it can definitely be done here at Tennessee more easily than it could there.
