Oklahoma Player Eric Striker Blabs Bulletin Board Material

Actually he's an outside LB who occasionally played with his hand in the dirt last year due to the 3/4 base defense. We've gone back to a 4/3 so I don't think any sooner fan can truly tell you what to expect from him this year, except he's coming for your QB. The test will be administered on Saturday night. Better study. Lol

You're so lame

Career Stats

Tackles - 129
Tackles for loss - 28
Sacks - 15.5

Those numbers would be a lot closer to each other if he was a one trick pony. You can guarantee he is pinning his ears back on obvious passing downs, but he's solid in other areas as well.

So he has slightly more sacks in his career than Maggitt had in 1 season?

nothing about our offense looks like it did when striker last saw it. so many different parts. Run right at him. 220lbs DE/OLB. Thats where he gets killed. Hes in for a rude awakening if he thinks its the same. Worley aint standing back there and thomas aint playing tackle. Cant just pin your ears back any more.

Bring him on, because as soon as he doesn't get to Dobbs, JD will break a 45 yard run. I hope you realize we no longer have a QB who will not move from within the pocket, and I hope you realize that we have 242 pound running back who will do whatever it takes to protect his QB. Hurd's blocking abilities are much improved.

Dobbs will make plays with his arm and his legs, I have no doubt about that. But Striker will hit him, and I have no doubt about that either. Should be fun to watch.

Actually he has slightly more sacks and slightly more tackles for loss in 2 full seasons than Maggitt had in 3 full seasons. Not something you should be bragging about.

alot of conference games vs iowa state, kansas and texas tech as well. 2 yrs ago TCU was a 4-8 team also. That has to help.

I bet the rest of the country can't claim 10 ranked teams in their conference though can they Stoops?

Conference Pride: What you rely on to get yourself through football season when your team sucks and you need a way to justify it.

I'd expect this from UK and poor old Vandy, but I would think UT would be above that. And Bermuda is right. The rest of the country laughs at you for it. You didn't hear chants of Big 8/12 when Oklahoma and Nebraska were dominating college football for 3 decades because honestly it's kinda pathetic.

It's not about conference pride, the fact of the matter is the SEC is where real football is played period. The level of championships and NFL talent have proven that. You can argue it all you want, but it's not going to change. And you can't change the fact that Tennessee is a lot better this year compared to last and is in many ways a mismatch for your team. Good luck Saturday, cause this team and this fanbase are hungry and your Sooners are next on the food chain.

Lol. You said it's not conference pride, but it is and your next sentence reinforced that. I know this UT team is improved from last year, and we may be slightly worse. Too soon to tell for sure. I'll be shocked if this game isn't a nail biter. Good luck to you as well. Is it Saturday yet?

I hate to say it, but he's right. All that matters is who the better team is when that final whistle blows and the game is played between the lines.

You know, this whole Oklahoma "we stand alone, we don't give a poop for our conference mates" attitude is sad.

You can't tell me that the entire state of Oklahoma does not understand what it feels like to have brothers. To care about how your brother is doing even while you stand on your own two feet and fight your own battles.

And I know it's a falsehood by those who say it, because other Oklahoma fans speak eloquently about how much the Oklahoma-Nebraska rivalry meant, and how valuable it was to them to have Nebraska in the same conference, how wrong it is not to have them there now.

I'm hugely proud of the Volunteers. Always will be. But I also love that we're in a conference with huge history, great traditions, more rivalries than you can shake a stick at, and story after story after story going back several generations.

For the Oklahoma fans who visit our boards and talk trash about SEC's sense of family, I just feel sorry for you that you don't have that in your life, too.

Go Vols!

As far as stats go between Maggit and Striker they have played the same amount of seasons (Maggit sat out in 2013 due to injury) and both have comparable stats. Both of them still have this year to play. I don't really give a rip what either's stats look like. I care about UT having more points on the scoreboard when the game is over.

Win or lose though I want this to be a great hard fought game and the OU players to know they were in a battle when they leave. Teams used to hate playing in Neyland even of they won because they still got there arses beat all game long. I hope the OU fans get treated well and shown some southern hospitality.

Enough talking let players suit up and get them pads poppin on the field!!! GBO!!!!!!!!

You talk about us as if this is the way we've always felt about our conference. I think most OU fans always appreciated the Big 8 and the Big XII before ShortWhorn Network/four teams leaving. We weren't the ones who screwed up our once proud conference lol.

Ehh, not everyone views things the same. If we were all the same then things would be pretty boring.

Yeah, Arsenal, and I don't blame you guys for feeling down on the current Big 12. Texas has really fouled it up for all of you, imho.

But don't let your current unenviable situation foul you on all conferences everywhere. In many places, it's still a very cool thing to be part of a conference with great history and traditions and rivalries.

I'd love for you guys to be able to go back to the Big 8 days, maybe adding some more teams but definitely getting "unstuck" from the state of Texas. That hasn't been any good for you, Nebraska, or the other Big 8 teams from the beginning, I don't think.

Yeah, clearly the old Big XII North wasn't big on it considering half that division is gone. I think some fans may be bitter about losing a lot of our old rivalries (also remember Missouri and Colorado were often big games for us, too. Not the rivalry Nebraska was, but we went way back with them) and so they talk **** about the conferences those teams left for. Overall, I think most OU fans are simply disappointed with how things have worked out. Honestly, I'd rather be in the SEC West at this point than where we are now. It's just a crap situation that everyone else has left us in.

I think adding OU to the SEC would be awesome. I liked when ATM and Missouri were added to the SEC. It just made the SEC even stronger.
