Oklahoma Player Eric Striker Blabs Bulletin Board Material

That being the case maybe the crowd should consider changing the victory chant to "the Big 12 sucks". And what's up with the Big 12 only having 10 schools represented?

Yeah smack talk is worthless on OU fans. We would chant it with you.(not kidding) We hate our conference more than anybody.
We stand alone and like it that way.

OU is good enough to be in the SEC mix. What SEC fans don't seem to get is how we are percieved by everyone outside. Oregon, OSU, etc etc could mix it up in the SEC, but don't get to be part of the "best conference" label. SEC fans often tag team on the successes of rivals, so they can stick out there chest and say they are "part of the best". Everyone else has to listen to the chatter year after year and get sick of it.

Dude is just responding to what's obvious outside the SEC world.
Nothing really to see here. But, if this somehow gets our players to play better, then so be it.

About on the same lines as what I was thinking. Striker was just asked and he responded. Not so much directed at Tennessee. Although, give it time. It's only Tuesday.

For your sake hope we don't win. Our fans are known for sarcastically chanting SEC after beating SEC teams to make everyone back home and in the big 12 laugh.

What was your sarcastic chant while losing the BCS Championship Games to LSU (03 season) and Florida (08 season)?

Look, since 1992 the SEC has won the national championship 11 times with 5 different programs (92, 96, 98, 03, 06-12). That's not a creation of the media, it's a reality. Now that the SEC hasn't won the last two the chatter has subsided but until very recently it was justified.

How many titles have the sec won since a big 12 school won one? How many different schools have won a title out of our conference since a big 12 team has? This has been arguably the worst decade stretch of our schools football program ever and at the end of the day both schools have 1 bcs title.

I bet what really sucks the most is that arrogant ass Texas getting the lions share of the conference revenue and their own network. Bet it makes the rest of you guys laugh at them since they stink so bad.

There are several teams around the country including OU that could compete in the SEC. That isn't why the SEC talk is what it is. It is the depth of the conference compared to say the Big 12. Even Vandy doesn't lose to FCS teams. If I'm not mistaken, that makes two years in a row for KU.

Yall a sensitive bunch holy crow. I'm just telling you if you chant that SEC crap don't be surprised when we do it back. It's hilarious.

But it's cool. Seriously we dont conference smack talk. Its not real. A team stands on its own successes and failures. No one else's. How unmanly do you have to be to want "partial credit" for someone else's success.

Also by "'Bama math" we have 17 titles. But again.... Thats just a weak way to claim dominance.

I am a sooner fan and have the upmost respect for your program, fans (most of them) and tradition. But I do not understand the whole conference pride thing, and I don't think anyone outside of the SEC does. I know for a lot of Sooner fans, regardless of who Okie Lite or Texas is playing we root against them 100% of the time. I would assume with rich tradition Tennessee has all Vol fans would be the same way. Your a blue blood, just like my Sooners which means as long as we take care of business every Saturday the outcome for other schools within our respective conference is irrelevant.

Yeah Texas ruined the conference. We're done pretending otherwise. OU makes its own money but the others can't say that.

How you feel about UTjr and Okie St is how I feel about Bama and Florida. ***K 'em.

You want a stat about stoops? He's got Sabans number. 3-0 against him while at Oklahoma and Saban at 'bama. Bet y'all don't here that one much?

I was just messing with you... We appreciate the perspective of a classy opponent. Are you sure about that Saban stat though? He was at LSU when you played Bama in'02 and '03 (that was Mike Shula's team).

Good post and welcome! I ESPN blows it up during bowl week. We like everyone beating Ohio State. They take most of the SEC ball busting. Sooners are ok. It's all in fun.

I'm not a conference pride person either. I'd love to see Bama, Florida and Vandy lose every game.

I think that goes for most of us. I was cheering like hell for Oklahoma when they beat Alabama in the Sugar Bowl two years ago... and I cheered like hell for them when they lost to Florida for the championship in '08.
