Oklahoma is a bigger game than most of you think

The whole college footballverse is watching. The hype has made this game huge.

While people are underestimating the importance of a win, they're also underestimating the disappointment of a loss. So. Just. Don't. Lose.

OU can win this game 50-7 and will still only be 19th in the polls....again. Only SEC teams move up in the polls. So we will take the win for a win and blow some gas up your asses and call it a good day.

Like hell.... Be on time; don't you dare be late.

I think it depends how we win or lose.

If we win comfortably then I would mark this as a milestone. The official Butch era.

If both teams play bad and we barely winos lose then not so much.

If we lose horribly then FIRE BUTCH (blue font). It just means we need a little more time to get things rolling.

Is this game much bigger to Tennessee than it is to Oklahoma?
I hope the Vols want it more!

What makes a great, winning football dynasty?

Huge investment in the program? Check. State of the art facilities? Check. World class venue? Check. Loyal and loud fans, supporters and alumni? Check. Best in class recruiting? Check. Talent on the field? Check. Smart, experienced, and all around great coach and staff? Check. Respect? Check.

We're there. It's ours for the taking. One game at a time. Brick by brick. Starting tomorrow. It's Football Time in Tennessee.

Go Vols!

After a 8-5 season people have to be held accountable and its the coaches' job to do that. If he cant identify the problem and fix it by replacing the weak links then its his head on the chopping block. By the way have you seen how the chopped heads have done this year.:thud: And I agree you dont have the biggest Dbag coach in the world. But to imply that Stoops is a Dbag is unsubstantiated and merely an opinion on a uneducated opponent fan. Just like the "Oklahoma Home" stickers that were made fun of in another thread. A tribute and reminder of the children we lost in the Moore tornado. Stoops is heavily invested in Oklahoma. He's more than just a Football Coach to us. He's a good man. Certainly not a dirtbag.

Bob Stoops' quiet mission: Visiting patients at Children's Hospital | News OK

You know nothing Jon Snow...

Maybe he is charitable away from the field but he is definitely a dbag on game day. Or really any day he does an interview for that matter. Watching him absolutely humiliate his brother up and down the sideline is tough to watch. He carries himself very Saban like. He'll also take any kid that he thinks can help him win with no regard to the message that sends. He has literally assembled a who's who's of woman beaters and drug dealers that no other program would consider signing. I hope we destroy them so I can see him acting like a fool about ready to cry. Maybe our fans can throw a few s e c chants his way. That would be epic

Its his nature to not give up on the young men of society but instead mentor them and help them deal with success on and off the field. And has been successful in doing so. When other have given up on them or would have. Wow society could use more like him. You also base your hostile views on press conferences...wow how can you base a man's integrity on press conferences. Would you have guessed ole Joe Paterno was a pedophile protecting dirtbag based on his press conferences?

Look I have absolutely nothing against the people of Oklahoma, or the players/fans. I think you'll find this sentiment shared by nearly everyone you encounter. I'm sure our fans will be cordial...win or lose. But you'll never convince me that stoops isn't a piece of crap. He gets so freaking angry when discussing the sec that it's funny to watch. I hope to see his angry face tomorrow. Anyway...good luck to yall

UF is the biggest game of CBJs career. He will be under tons of pressure from everyone to win. It'll be even more so if he can't win tomorrow. We can not be 2-2 going into the hardest part of our schedule.

I can agree with this given the way the past couple against them have played out.

Dunno.

SEC title game in 2007, 2004, and 2001 were kind of important.

Considering you are referencing events that were 8+ years ago, I stand by my statement. Fans younger than 20 don't know what it was like when Tennessee was actually winning consistently. Think about it, a 5th grader today has never seen us beat Florida.

I've noticed some posters on here saying this a big game but not an "important game". IMO, despite Florida, Georgia, Arkansas, this is one of the most important games on our schedule. Not for the fans but the team as a whole as well. This our chance to prove to the world that we belong in the top 25 by defeating an top notch program like Oklahoma as well. It will show that we've improved on every aspect of the game cause believe it or not, we was one of the most hyped up teams coming into preason. If we lose this game, it won't make or break our season but I believe this game is just as important on our schedule. This is Butch's chance to make a statement in the SEC.

I think you are confusing "important game" with "must win".

You're the one who set the time frame at 15 years bud.
